does opening the xbox's case void the warranty?

I’m not sure why everyone is saying opening the Xbox voids the warranty.. it’s clear in the warranty terms that it says opening your Xbox does not void the warranty

If you opened the console case, even to clear out Roaches, then yes. The warranty is void.

Shame though.

The laser does need to be replaced, there's no doubt about that but if playerhilton9 opened the console's case and started unauthorized maintenance it definitely voids the warranty and Microsoft will not touch the console.

Sorry but you'll have to buy an entirely new console if you opened it up at all.

@OWENKILLER - Oh yeah , the only thing opening you Xbox does it void your warranty. And i don't think it's illegal to get your Xbox repaired by someone that is not a microsoft employee.
