Does my Xbox need a repair?

So about a week ago, I was playing a game called Red Dead Redemption 2. I was hunting for an animal, but when it wasn't spawning, I made a save. To reset that spawns in the game, I loaded that save, but was met with an infinite loading screen. After five or six minutes, I closed the game and opened it again. This time when I opened the game, it was all in low quality, and the game wasn't textured. None of the commands were working, so I closed the game, uninstalled, and then reinstalled the game. I switched the HDMI on my TV, and waited for it to reinstall. After about an hour or two, I decided to check on it, but the game said that it couldn't complete the installation, and that it was corrupted. I couldn't try the reinstall button so I turned off my Xbox and tried to turn it on again. For a few minutes, the Xbox logo on my console was flashing on and off, and i didn't want to pull the plug. After it stopped, I turned my Xbox back on, but this time, I wasn't able to log in to my account, and none of the games would work. I turned off my Xbox again, and when I turned it back on, the screen was black. It stayed like that for a few minutes, and then was met with a system start up error. E102 I think. The next day, I called support, and I preformed an offline system update. When it was completed, everything seemed like it was working again. I had to add my account again, and reinstall my games. When I selected the games and apps that I wanted to reinstall, all of the installations stopped, and my console only installed the apps. When it finished reinstalling the apps, I turned off my Xbox, and then turned it back on. The screen was black for several minutes, and then everything appeared again. When I tried to move however, it was very delayed, and took a few seconds for the commands to work. I turned off my Xbox again, but the screen went back to being black. I've tried to preform another offline system update, but it would say preparing console but would stay at zero percent. Nothing on my Xbox works anymore, and Im starting to think that it's bricked. Is it in need of a repair?

    :)

Does my Xbox One need to be repaired?

Well, i currently don't have access to Internet on my xbox, so i can't try resetting it, but I've tried the other options listed and nothing....I really don't want to pay $179 for a repair/replacement.... I'd rather shell out another 150 for a new one. I
did buy my current Xbox one off Amazon refurbished... when i got it, Everything worked like a charm...i believe i bought it in 2018...i should have purchased a warranty... but yeah...If anything, I will get myself internet and just purchase the 360 games i
want digitally if i can.... I really want to play my R.U.S.E game...i love WW2 RTS games.... but yeah, Thank you.

    Hi JackYOgurl606,

Thank you for posting on the Xbox forums. I'd be happy to help answer that.

Have you tried any troubleshooting on the console to see if it is operating system related? Or even hard drive related? I highly recommend trying console troubleshooting to see if it is a hardware issue with the disc reader that would require a repair.

If you haven't done so, try the following steps:

    Go ahead and do a
    hard restart and power cycle
to the console. Hold down the power button on the console for about 10 seconds until it shuts down and then remove the power cable from the Xbox and the power outlet for about 5 minutes. Then re-connect and wait 60 seconds before
    turning on the Xbox.

If that doesn't help then you will need to try out a
    soft factory reset
    .
    1. Press the Xbox button on the controller to open the guide.
    2. Scroll to the right and select System > Settings > System > Console info.
    3. Select Reset console.
Make sure to select "Keep my games & apps" and have the correct account login information plus your Wi-Fi password ready if you connect wireless because you will need to re-add the account's that were on the Xbox and re-connect to your network during the
    reset.

Give those steps a try and be sure to let us know the results!

Does my Xbox One need to be repaired?

    Hi,

There are two lasers in the Xbox One console Blu-ray drive. The red laser reads DVD discs, with Xbox 360 games using DVD as their storage medium. While the Blue laser is used to read Blu-ray discs. It's a little disingenuous to call these drives 'disc readers'.

This why your Xbox One disc games work, but 360 and DVD movies do not.

Unfortunately this issue can't be fixed by the user, you'll need a repair.

Sorry to hear it. Please try going to Settings>Disc & Blu Ray and make sure that Enable BD Live is not checked. The click on Persistent Storage and clear it. Finally power cycle the console by holding the power button on it for 10 seconds till it shuts
down. If this does not work then the console may need to be repaired.

If the console is no longer reading discs then it may need to be sent in for a repair. You can set up a repair of the console via this link https://devicesupport.microsoft.com

In the meantime you could try holding the disc for a second after the console grabs it. This could force the console to read the disc. Please note though that this is not a recommended workaround as it may scratch your disc and doesn't solve the existing
    issue.

Have you bought this Xbox One brand new or a used one? remember that xbx 360 disc are region locked so you must use a disc from the same regione of the console.
