    Does Microsoft Bans USER Xbox/MSaccount For Downloading/Using MS Store Emulators?


    Ok, we all know MS makes some effort to avoid game emulator publishing in Store.

    And we know some emulators that reached publishing cheking was already banned in last years.

    My direct question is: was some of those USERS banned too?

    I mean account suspension, console ban, etc.

    Or MS just punishes developers, after removing the app/game from Store?

    I did read some interpretations about MS rules and about what is really illegal about emulation universe (local roms, online roms, download bios, included bios, extracted bios/roms or downloades, third party or your own, etc, etc).

    We all know the main rule for a user is MS Services Agreement, and we have that "all general" global rule "don't do anything illegal." there.

    But I wonder if an app/game bypasses MS Store validation for some reason and reaches Store... some users download it and play other systems like old videogames included in the app/game...

    Can the USER be punished for that?

    I mean "can": not from the legal/contract point of view, but from the known MS decisions about those situations.

    Meanly because it's an app/game supposedly approved by MS Store team... can MS punish an user for using a game they approved?

    Did it already happen?

    unless you create your own bios for the system which is legal, and if you own the original games then that is also legal too.

    You won't see them on Xbox Store.

    If you want to play classic games, you can do so on a PC. No need for a high end machine, the pie does it for $40.

    what about emulation in dev mode then... we can expect the same?

    or can we consider dev mode a different situation... different from publishing. like: a state in wich we can develop and run projects for educational or testing purposes in a sandbox environment?
