Does leaving the xbox preview program reset your xbox?

Sorry to hear it. For future reference, while in the preview program you should post strictly to the preview forums.

As for leaving, if you would like leave the program you can select the option to leave from within the preview app. Doing this will initiate a Factory Reset on your console within 72 hours. The Factory Reset will erase all information on your hard drive.
If you have an external hard drive attached the reset will not affect it. As well, your game saves stored on the Cloud will also be spared from the reset.

known issue with the Xbox One Preview Program. It sounds like you, or someone that shares your Xbox One with you, is a member of the Preview Program and has enrolled your console. You will want to have the person who is a part of the preview program leave
feedback via the console app (hold down the Xbox button and use the "Report a problem" box on the right) and then log into the Preview Program forums above to leave further feedback.

Another option you could try is to
Factory Reset Your Xbox One using the "keep my games and apps" option. However, since you're part of the Xbox One Preview Program, you'll want to stop by the Preview
Program forums for further support. Also please be sure to leave feedback through your Xbox One dashboard regarding the issue.

Fixed the problem by going back to the previous version of Edge. Just leave the preview program and reset your Xbox, keeping your games and apps. That other guy is a bit rude but their insight helped bring about this conclusion.

You will have to open the Xbox Insider Hub on your PC and leave the Minecraft preview program then delete the game and install it again or your friend could join the preview program to be on the same version as you.
