Does Kinect control RF devices?

i tend to think the cec fucntionality will be very limited early on. but ms has a good track record of supporting their products and upgrading functionality. in the mean time the ir blaster on the kinect will work great for most people. id also imagine ms
will release usb ir/rf blasters for those that keep their devices in cabinets, out of kinect line of site, and to control devices not directly connected to through hdmi.

No, the xbox kinect will not replace a home IR repeater system. It is not a repeater system. It can only take voice commands or controller commands and send them to the devices.

You will want to place the eye directly over the devices IR sensor for maximum reliability.

You might want to check out the harmony hub, or harmony ultimate. These use RF and Wifi to control your devices. You will not even have to point the remotes at the tv anymore.

You might try turning on the console with the controller that does work, and leaving it on while you try setting up the controller you are having trouble with in the #2 slot.

Sometimes RF detection goes a little haywire.

Or if you still have your battery case for the controller. Try a fresh set of regular batteries in it. It could be that the Play Charge pack your using in that controller is possibly too weak to transmit a good enough RF signal.

You can report them, but there is little point for 2 reasons. 1. microsoft does not read every complaint that comes in only half of them ever get read, and less then that actually get any thing done about it. 2. Microsoft has already openly supported certain
developers of devices like th rf controller(datel is one....).
