    I have an Elite Series 2 controller. It randomly and constantly disconnects for a second or two. It happens multiple times a day. I'll be in the middle of the game and it'll disconnect and the message will pop up asking me to reconnect the controller and press A. My other controllers don't do this.

    It's gotten to the point that when I play competitive games such as COD, I always plug it in with the cord that came with the controller out of fear that I'll get disconnected in the middle of a gun fight (it's happened a few times).

    The problem is, I shouldn't have to worry about that because it should just work like the other wireless controllers I have. For $180 USD I would hope it would work properly. I've updated the controller firmware when I got the controller in November and I've done it again today even tho it said there wasn't an update available.

    I'm not rough on my electronics. I've never dropped the controller or done anything that would break something on or in the controller.

    I feel like it's some sort of firmware issue because the Left Bumper also sometimes won't register a press. Today the Left Bumper worked with every press. Yesterday I had multiple instances where the Left Bumper didn't register that I pressed it. It's very random and inconsistent just like the disconnections.

    Does anyone else have an Elite Series 2 that has these or similar issues? Will there be a firmware update to address these issues? Or do I just have a Lemon?

    TLDR: Elite Series 2 controller keeps disconnecting randomly and inconsistently along with the Left Bumper randomly and inconsistently not registering being pressed.

    yes and the firmware update doesnt do anything at all. and if my controller is defective it shouldnt work on usb either but it does

    Hi there. My name is Ron, I'm an independent advisor. I will be more than happy to help you.

    Please try the following steps one at a time to resolve the issue:



    Solution 1: Do a power cycle to clear the cache of the console



    1. Turn off the Xbox console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds until it shuts down completely.

    2. Unplug the console's power cable. Wait 10 seconds.

    Important Be sure to wait 10 seconds. This step resets the power supply.

    3. Plug the console power cable back in.

    4, Press the Xbox button on your console to turn on the Xbox console.



    Solution 2: Do a factory reset



    1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

    2. Select System > Settings > System > Console info.

    3. Select Reset console.

    4. Reset and keep my games & apps.
