Does Halo have a good single player campaign?

Halo 1, 2 and 3 have the best campaigns, easily.

Reach and 4 are a bit weak and ODST's campaign is a little disconnected but that one is worth a shot.

 

Also, ODST is dark so you might want to be prepared for that. There were moments in that game were I could barely see a thing but well worth your time, indeed. I liked most campaigns to be fair. I don't think you will be unhappy if you selected one at random.

 

One has a great campaign. Never played Two. Halo 3 gave me serious motion sickness so I never finished the campaign. Loved the Reach campaign (liked being able to customise the main character) and Halo 4 was also good fun.

For me though I enjoyed the campaign in Reach the most.

 

I picked up 4 last night and really enjoyed it and am now looking forward to playing more of the campaigns. Thanks again for all the input on here.

 

1 & 2 were good. 3 was ok until the parts with the Flood. Reach and H4 were so boring I just stopped playing. I actually fell asleep while playing Reach.

 

^ I liked reach alot. The story was very interesting.

 

3 and ODST are the best IMO. Halo 2 would have been better without the cliffhanger at the end and for Reach / 4... well I don't think I could type out on here how I feel about those games.

 

I've actually heard from a lot of people that ODST is the best. I've just never picked it up.

 

ODST is great just for Nathan! I seriously got that game mainly just for that. Pick it up brand mate, its awesome. Just a bit dark.

Whats the order for Halo so the author knows? Chronological order I mean?

It is right but it would probably be better to play Reach after Halo 3 to match the release schedule. I feel like it would make it easier to relate to and more relevant than playing it before the first game.

Also, gameplay changes in Reach and Halo 4 would be better experienced together, after the main games.

 

Halo Combat Evolved is a must have title, it set the standard for the FPS genre in my opinion.

And I was overjoyed when the Anniversary edition was released for the 360. A game in which I still regularly play the single player campaign.

"The Silent Cartographer" has got to be my favourite level, I wonder how many times I`ve played through it. Hmmm?

Other than ODST's events happening in parallel to the second half of Halo 2, it Looks about right. However, it is always recommended to play the games in release order to not get spoiled of events happening in other games. I wouldn't recommend playing Reach
before Halo 1, for instance.
