Does Halo have a good single player campaign?

I'm not much of a MP gamer, but everyone is always saying how great this game is. I was just wondering if there is a single player campaign and if it is any good. Thanks in advance for your help.

After re-playing all the Halos...

i am a single-player only gamer and i love the first 3 halo games. superb gameplay, long and great replay.

i have the fourth and if it really does have a short campaign i will be one pissed off halo fan, no matter, how good it is.

 

Is the campaign single player only?

Yeah it sounds similar to what COD has been doing. They had 4 player co-op in WAW but now only have single player campaigns. Hopefully Halo 4 does not go down the same path of single player only. If I remember correctly, they didnt announce Halo 3
had 4 player co-op until about a month before the game came out. So maybe they are just waiting.

 

Yes there is a single player campaign. If its any good or not is up for debate as different people like different things

 

I'd say so. I've enjoyed every Halo campaign I've played. Which one in particular are you talking about?

 

Halo's campaigns are very good in my honest opinion.

 

Any of them really. Do you have a favorite? I have not played any of them and I am looking for a good shooter right now.

 

If you haven't played halo you should get halo combat evolved anniversary.

 

I'll add to that by giving an opinion to help. I very much enjoyed the single player campaign for 1, 2, and 3. Story wise and mission wise they were fun and challenging, and very memorable. ODST and Reach campaigns felt very side-story'ish (which they
were) and just kinda felt boring by comparison. 4 was OK, but mediocre. Promethians get very boring to fight very quickly, and many of the levels felt tedious. I recommend the first 3, but after that not as much.

 

^ I would agree with this. Except I like the tone of odst alot, my only problem was the length.

 

Yea, I mean, I can see a one-time runthrough being OK for the post-Halo 3 titles, but not worth paying much to do so. I'd say Gamefly them or rent through other means if you can do so cheaper than buying... ODST, Reach and 4 are not that long of campaigns.

...Maybe I should also add the caveat that if you look at Halo titles at a game store to be advised that there is a non-shooter Halo title, Halo Wars, which is a real time strategy game. If you specifically want a shooter, avoid that one.

 

Honestly if I were you I'd go for Halo 4. The MP is still going strong. It's super fun, I like it a lot. You might get your butt kicked at first but it'll get better. I'm gonna say get the Game of the Year Edition so you get all the extra maps and more variety.
If you want a Halo just for the SP, get Halo Anniversary like Grady said.

 

HELL YES! Buy every game. The campaigns are very good and the story is very good. One of my favourite game series.
