    Does choosing new avatar affect the gamertag and xbox live account


    Can you choose a new avatar for a gamertag with xbox live attached to it? If you do, does it disconnect the xbox live account and forfeit the funds attached?

    purchasing avatar items for a non-xbox live account

    The account does need to be connected to XBox Live in order to purchase avatar items (and it does have to be her account as avatar items are not available to any gamertag except the purchasing gamertag). However, you can connect her gamertag to XBox Live
    with a free silver account and access the avatar marketplace without issue.

    changing avatar does nothing to your account just as changing your tag does nothing to your account

    NP I changed my avatar all the time back in the day and it never affected my account or stats like game score etc.

    NP I changed my avatar all the time back in the day and it never affected my account or stats like game score etc.

    Hello again, to add a guest is pretty simple, turn on your Xbox One when it's on the home screen sign in to the account that's already on Xbox, then go to the Avatar (photo) of the active account and choose Add or Swap then choose add guest.

    This will result in a guest account that can be synced to another control if other players already have a Microsoft/Xbox account with Gamertag choose: Add New.
