Does Changing Account Region Allow me to play PAL?

I just moved from the USA to the UK and brought my xbox with me. I've been looking into changing my Region so that I can add my UK payment options but have some concerns. I know for one, changing region changes some of the online content and other things
but that's fine. What I'm wondering is does this allow you to play PAL games on my American console? (Also, my console is one of the original, no HDMI just component cables. Stupid I know) And if it does change my region coding for games, will the NTSC
games I brought from America still work?

Every where I've looked only discusses the online content when it comes to changing account region. I'm just not aware if it actually changes the software to allow PAL region formatted games. Thank you for any help!

Miss Ermine: I've tried moving via that option, and while I am not breaking any "conditions that prevent [me] from changing [my] region", it still does not allow me to change my region.

Why would changing your account region (Migration) affect the ability to play with UK Players?

I am from the UK, my region is the UK and I find plenty of USA players.

Does strike me as odd if I'm honest.

Your console was purchased in North America so it will have been set up for NTSC. If you want to purchase and play PAL discs then you would need to purchase a console from the UK.

Ok that's what I thought. I've just never seen the change region option before and wasn't sure all that it did. Thanks mate!

The part that you highlighted pertains solely to your Xbox Live account, not to the games themselves. You console (not your account) is preventing you from playing region locked games. If you change the region of your account
(NOT RECOMMENDED), that will not "unlock" those games. The only way to play region lock PAL games is to buy a PAL console.

You can change the region of your account, but you can't change the region of a console. So if your console reads PAL discs, but not NTSC, you would have to try finding PAL versions of the games you want to play. Or purchase a new console.
