Does " Blocking " someone prevent you from being randomly teamed up with them?

As the title of this thread says, does " Blocking " someone prevent you from being randomly teamed up with them if the you're playing is the same the same game that they play?

It is no secret that I love Destiny

I am hoping that the being blocked also implements some sort of " do not team me up with this player " safe guard when that 1% of the time happends that I want to play some Strike Missions

What about muting him and blocking him? You need to mute him to prevent him saying anything, and you need to block him to prevent ALL communications with him.

When you report someone, it takes time to process. When you mute and block. it's instant.

I think it depends on how the game implement, in COD ghost you can still get put into multipler matches with people but it tells you and then mutes everyone in the lobby. Buts thats blocking them through xbox

If you report them through destiny it will be different and more likely not to be matched with them.

I know that at least one of these individuals still plays Destiny. I haven't played with this person yet, but I really wish that I never ever get teamed up with this player.

I wouldn't know what to do if I find myself in a situation where this player is my team mate.

I don't believe in " naming and shaming " and all that I can tell you is that I absolutely cannot stand this particualr individual.

I am going to feel really bad for abandoning the other player, but I would immediately leave the Fireteam if said individual was my team mate.

I wouldn't worry about it, just pull out of the event and find more people.

The chances are very slim anyway through matchmaking.

Don't know about Destiny, but I blocked a player on Gears of War Judgement and on several occasions got teamed up with him on matchmaking!

 

I find when I block someone I haven't seem them again. But if I am in a party and the leader hasn't blocked them then I will some times get matched up people I have blocked. I have a few times been a game when I am in a group go to block a bad player for
one reason or another and go oh he/she is already blocked.

Also on some games with small player pools it may be that you see a blocked player more often.

Based on what you guys said, Blocking someone only stops them from sending you messages and game invites.

I think it would make perfect sense for a system to be in place that prevents you from being randomly teamed up with the blocked player(s) when you block them.

Maybe this will be added in the future, maybe it won't.

I don't think so lei, since they are blocked and logic would suggest blocked from commenting. I do this often on psn and it should work the same on xbla. I play allot of cod on the competition and have blocked at least 100 people, basically I block anyone
with a 2 or 1 bar, sometimes 3 if it's due to split screening. I'll admit it and I don't care, I can't host a poor connection. I never team up with these people again unless I unblock them, so maybe the game publisher has something to do with this?
