Does being banned from Xbox live effect your email address if it’s a @live email address?

Thanks for coming to the Xbox forums. If banned it could affect a Microsoft domain email if it is a Microsoft ban. These are usually temporary and can be fixed by signing in and verifying. These usually come for mass emails sent, spam, or sending a lot of
requests in short amount of time.

If it is an Xbox ban it will not affect the Microsoft account portion, only the Xbox side. Like connecting to Xbox live, chats etc.

no, you can verify your email without problems, even if you are banned from Xbox Live

This isn't necessarily true. My Origin account email address is different from my Xbox Live account email address. This alone does not automatically link up the two accounts.

if your email address is a Microsoft email (@hotmail, @live, @outlook) then you wont be able to remove your account from the Xbox account.

removing Microsoft email accounts from Xbox accounts permanently deletes the email account and you will no longer be able to access it

all you can do is add an alias email address then promote that to be the main email address.
