    Does BC for Xbox One mean BC for 360?


    Hi, Starbuck here,

    This may be a dumb question but I’d rather have a straight answer than assume that just because an original Xbox Game is available on the Xbox One Marketplace that it would be available for the 360 too.

    It all started when I was playing through the classic Star Wars games. I’d been borrowing a heavily scratched disc from a friend who swore it worked fine, and as you can imagine, I only got so far before I had to consider finding an alternate means of finding
    the game.

    I saw in a recent Backwards Compatability Ad that Knights of the Old Republic 2 is coming to Xbox One, (I have Knights of the Old Republic 1 on both my Xbox One and 360) but my issue is all my save sets are on the 360, and as you know, there is no way to
    transfer original Xbox files from 360 to One like you can with 360 Games. I’m planning on buying the game anyway on the 26th, but I really don’t want to have start all over again.

    Knights of the Old Republic 1 is Backwards Compatible for both consoles, will that be also true for it’s sequel?

    does this also mean no BC for COD games? i suspect thats the case.

    xbox one backward compatbility.

    Dark....keep your 360 and plug it into your Xbox One....you will be able to play them that way.

    Or, if you wait, MS is supposedly considering a bc option similar to what Sony says they will be attempting.

    Honestly, I could care less about bc, but, I do realize, for some people....for some reason....it means something to them. But bc really is a thing of the past.

    list of OG Xbox games     that can be played on Xbox 360. Both KOTOR and it's sequel are on there.

    Just because they are BC with the 360, doesn't mean they will someday become BC with the Xbox One. The Xbox One BC does Backwards compatibility differently to the way the 360 does it.

    The Xbox 360 uses a more traditional emulator, being able to run games directly from the discs. While the Xbox One requires a dedicated team to reverse engineer each game and repackage it for the Xbox One platform. Only EA can release the source code to
    Microsoft to do the BC on these games. Without the rights, EA won't be able to release the code.

    It's not up to MS what game/s become BC, it's the developers/publishers. Posting a request on here won't get you anywhere, no matter how many replies you get.

    It only depends wether the publisher allows the game to BC. If does you will be able to play with both. The Xbox One BC is a full Xbox 360 emulator. It won't matter if you're on a Xbox One or a 360. As far as the game is concered it will think it's running
    on a 360.

    Hi Microsoft, I had an issues with downloading my DLCs for black ops 1 because of the store closure, when I try downloading through the download history it gives me an error

    The region locked blackops

    All blackops content is region locked on Xbox 360

    You can't make new purchases of Xbox 360 content

    You can only buy new bc titles and dlc

    Meaning you can use it on the xbox one but not on Xbox 360 because it's only bc

    They said that BC compatibility for games would be determined by many different means, not that it will be a complete BC of all 360 titles. As with the 360 BC of original Xbox games some of the titles I loved were left out, including Enclave and Oddworld:
    Strangers Wrath. One of the means for determining BC they mentioned was consensus by the fans. And that is what this thread is for. Just like other threads in the General Discussion that talk about what users want in XB1, and new XB1 developments, this is
    a thread for all those who love the Too Human game to voice their desire to MS for BC. And possibly gain the support of other fans who might be in the same boat with their favorite titles.
