Does anyone know if you can play the definitive edition online on the PC without Xbox live ...

My brother can play gears 4 online without having a gold membership. Wondering if its the same for this and halo wars 2?

Does this
Halo Wars: Definitive Edition page give you the option to download the game? If it does, try selecting the download option and then check the 'My library' section of the Windows Store app on your Windows 10 PC. Ensure you are signed into the Xbox Live account
that you redeemed the code on to have that option.

halo wars 2 and definitive edition.

does anybody know if I will have to preload halo wars 2 before i can play the halo wars definitive edition or is it a separate game? and yes I've already preordered my ultimate edition of HW2. im only wondering because i use 4G for my internet/online gaming
which is limited and have to pack up my pc to download stuff.

Windows 10 games dont require xbox live gold to play. Since Halo Wars 2 will be a play anywhere game, no gold required for windows 10, but if you decide to play on xbox one, you will need xbox live gold.
