Does anyone know how to connect original xbox on HD tvs and 4k tvs?

Does anyone know how to connect original xbox console to HD TVs and 4K TVs, and where to buy power cord and original xbox controllers?

@Cheesy. nobody knows as the XB does not display in 4K. The signal to the TV needs to be in 4K.

It is like when HD first came out. Everyoen went out and bought a flat screen HD tv and used the same old component hook ups from their VCR/DVD basic cable and thought they had HD.

@Boas, I am sure there will be a jump to a higher reso after 4K but like how it is now.. what is the "norm" 1080 right? remember how expensive 4K TVS were 5 years ago? $6500.. so once most of the signals starting outputting in 4K and the consumers (who
set the market) all start buying 4K TVs it will be the norm..

Yes I have a wireless router. My xbox 360 slim can connect online without any cords does that mean my xbox one will??? And I don't know if my tvs HD or not, its digital does that mean its HD?

When you say the 'original console', are you referring to the console that came out in 2002, the first Xbox console from Microsoft? Or the First edition of the Xbox One console?

 

The OG Xbox console supported Composite, S-Video and Component video. Any current TV that has any of those connections will work, though component is the most likely to find on current 4K sets. Ebay is about the only source for power
cables and controllers.

 

I would highly recommend you invest in a hardware upscaler between the original Xbox and TV.

Remember that for most part the original Xbox was a 480i console - 720x480 (or 720x576 in Europe). This low standard definition resolution would have looked fine back in the day on a CRT display, but it won't translate too well on a modern HD TV, and it
will look worse when blown up on a 4K set.

These hardware scaler devices can sharpen the picture up quite considerably for older consoles. How well they work depends on how much you want to pay. Check them in action on YouTube.

 

No that isn't true at all. The OG Xbox was a 480p 16:9 console and also supported games in 720p and 1080i with the component cables or RGB SCART cable. All launch titles for the Xbox supported 480p. In any case, 4K TVs today have a better scaler in them
than you can buy as a stand alone device though I have kept my old DVDO scaler in case.

 

You can purchase an original Xbox component cable from anywhere, this will give you the best connection but it all depends what connection are on your TV as a lot of them now don't have component/ scart or s-video
