    Does anyone know how to connect an xbox one controller to a pc via usb?


    I only have a micro usb wire and every time I plug it in my tower, the controller vibrates, but not response on computer or controller otherwise. I've tried hitting the sync button and even holding the power button but the light just blinks and doesn't connect.
    I have an LG gaming tower with windows 10 with a quad core processor if that helps. I've tried to bluetooth as well but it won't find it for some reason, any suggestions? I've been through everything.

    The previous link was for a 360 controller.
    This would be the one for the Xbox One.     Can you let me know what happens when you connect the controller to the PC via USB with the Xbox Accessories app open? Does it change at all? Cycle a loading graphic, or does it not register at all?

    Hi Keith, There are two ways to connect an Xbox controller to a PC: with a USB cable or via Bluetooth.

    Connect with a USB cable

    Plug one end of the USB cable into the USB port on your PC.

    Plug the other end of the USB cable into the USB port on your Xbox controller.

    The controller should automatically connect to your PC.

    Connect via Bluetooth

    Make sure your Xbox controller and PC have Bluetooth.
    Activate Bluetooth on your PC.

    Press and hold the pairing button on the Xbox controller for 3 seconds.

    The controller should appear in the list of Bluetooth devices on your PC.

    Select the Xbox controller from the list and click "Connect."

    When I plug the USB into my controller then into the PC, the controller vibrates and I'm able to turn it on. But my PC doesn't tell me that the controller is plugged in. And Xbox Accessories says that I need to plug in a controller, but it is plugged
    in. So I don't know what is going on. Have you guys ever had this type of problem posted before? If yes please let me know how it was solved. Thank you.

    Thank you for keeping us updated. Did you also try the
    clean boot     I suggested above?

    Have you tried connecting the controller via Bluetooth if your PC is compatible? There is also a wireless option but you will need the
    Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows.

    I also suggest trying to plug in via USB to another PC and if the controller does not work on another PC with a USB cable then the controller will need to be replaced.
