Does anyone know how to change your profile picture when it's not allowing you to

I've been wanting to change my profile picture and every time I try to do it on the Xbox app I get an error that says try again in a bit and I've had this issue on the Xbox app for a year and a half now it's just never bothered me cuz I don't really send photos and chat or really wanted to change my profile picture then. I also tried putting a photo that I wanted to use on a flash drive and I put it into my Xbox and it would let me edit it but when I hit save the application would freeze and the only way to get out of the application was to hit the Xbox button and then hit home. And I have also tried changing it through my Microsoft account and it only changed it for my actual Microsoft account ie my computer and when I'm on my Microsoft account but when I'm on my Xbox account or my Xbox in general it shows my old profile picture and it has probably been over 48 hours or so since I changed it. I know three or four years ago I did get in trouble for my profile picture that it was too inappropriate even though it really wasn't and I couldn't change my profile picture for about 3 months and I got banned from Xbox live for a week and after that 3 months it was allowing me to change my profile picture again and I have no bands on my account and I don't understand why it won't let me change it or why I can't send photos in the Xbox app anymore. I've not tried to send photos in the Xbox app on PC but I just don't understand why I can't send photos or change my profile picture on the Xbox app and I tried finding how to change my profile picture on the xbox.com website but I couldn't find the setting I could only find how to change my profile picture on the Microsoft profile. (Also I've tried logging into my Xbox account on different mobile devices and I get the same error for no reason. So I don't know if it's account reason or if it's just an Android issue because I've had some app issues since I've upgraded to Android 11 on my tablet and Android 12 on my cell phone.

So if anyone knows how to fix this or what I need to do please let me know.

Sorry if that's a lot to read I just really want to change my profile picture and don't understand why I can't.

To further isolate the issue, have you tried changing your custom gamerpic using the Xbox app on mobile on a different mobile device? Or you could instead use a different Xbox profile and see if you could change it successfully using your Xbox app on mobile.

Check as well your account via https://enforcement.xbox.com/ to make sure you don't have any enforcement action.

Did you change your gamer picture twice or once? There is the personal pic and profile picture that you would have to change. The personal pic option allows only your friends to see it and then there is your profile pic that everyone sees.

I’m afraid to say that as the console companion app was discontinued, at the moment is possible to change our profile picture on the Xbox mobile app.

Hopefully, Microsoft will allow the PC users to change the profile picture for a custom one in a future update for the Xbox app.

I know this can be frustrating, but you can try asking a family member or friend, their phone temporarily, just to change your profile picture for the one you want.
