Does anyone know a solution to this issue?

At one point I was license transferring from a friend. Meaning I would sign in on his account and make his account my home Xbox, that way anything he downloads I get also. But just before New Years I realized I wasn't to play any of the games I have gotten
from my friend. So I tried signing in on his account again to make his account my home Xbox, but this time it tells me " you can only have one home Xbox at a time, you can only switch home consoles three times per year".

If he calls Xbox and makes them reset his home console settings could this possibly fix the situation?

You have to register on NBA 2K12 website through the game. Give your e-mail address and confirm before you can play online. Everyone who has broadband access, should have an e-mail address. It didn't take too long to do. About 15mins or less, unless you
want to make a detailed MyPlayer guy.

After registering it said you have to sign up something on some website, what is that for, can we still play online?

 

Sounds like your friend changed his console back to "Home". Maybe someone in his household wanted to play a game and couldn't? Maybe he just changed his mind about letting you have free games? Maybe he has another friend he let do the same thing?

Anyway, that is why M.S. only allows people to switch their home console three times a year; they want people to pay for games rather than exploit the "home" console nonsense.

I seriously doubt M.S. will accommodate his request to change his home console yet again.

Sounds like you are just trying to get games and not have to pay for them ie piracy. Sounds like a lot of people are trying to exploit the system for this purpose.

 

its not an exploit Hornet... it a known feature... hence the reason why you can only switch it 3 times...

as they said above OP.. your friend made another XB his home and that warning you seen was just that, a warning that this is your last switch before the 3X kick in..

question... Does your friend KNOW you are doing this with his account?

Also... there is nothing MS can or will do to add another switch... if you used them up... you used them up... you have to wait

 

I know it is a feature but there are also a lot out there that are just trying to use it as a new way to pirate games. Just because that is not its intention does not mean that people will not try to utilize it for that purpose.

 

I save myself the trouble by not using said feature at all...

 

@GG you and your brother did this with your own Xboxes... split the cost of games... that is what it is intended for...

and Full... not pirating if it is legal... pirating is the illegal downloading of software for personal use. The games that are shared are PAID for and are tied to the OWNERS xbox and his name...

 

My brother and I share 1 XB1, THnB, so we won't need this feature until 1 of us moves out.

 

Not to mention that sharing accounts is a bannable offense on Xbox Live.
