Does Anyone Care About Xbox One Achievements Unrelated To Games?

So I was watching Netflix on my One when one of those stupid achievements popped up for doing who knows what. I actually find them quite annoying. With that said, does anyone actually try to get these achievements from
apps? Just curious...

You should complete games for your own sense of achievement, not for anyone else.

I guarantee no one cares how many games you have completed as much as you do.

Does anyone has any lately news about xbox one and MCE integrated? Microsoft seems not care about it. They dont say anything about it, why?

 

No and honestly, whoever made this stupid idea should be fired.

I kept App use to a minimum before, now I don't touch them at all. Way to promote negative behavior whoever came up with this "feature".

 

I don't care for them much either. They don't give you score, and as LK said, they promote bad habits (e.g., watch 100 hours of TV/movies). The ONLY non-game achievement I ever cared for was 1 that had to do with that Soccer United app, and I only liked
it because I thought the image associated with it would make a great background. Unbeknownst to me at the time of unlocking it, I quickly learned that apparently non-game achievements can't be used as backgrounds - this means they truly are worthless through
and through.

 

^^^ incorrect. I got one for watching Atari : Game over and could use it as a background. But yeah I don't care for these at all.

 

No, I also find them irritating as hell. No idea why ms thought it would be a good idea to add them.

 

Seeing as how they don't count towards GS, no, they are completely useless. I'm OK with 'prestigious' no-score achievements (although the only one that jumps to mind is the Day 1 achievement), otherwise I see absolutely no point in giving them to apps.

More devils advocate than anything else, but to those saying that these app achievements promote negative behaviour/habits, how so?

 

^Well if the description wants you to watch TV for x amount of hours, maybe that's encouraging people to sit for unhealthy periods of time, though you could make the same argument for normal achievements IMO.

I personally forgot they had achievements for the apps as I just don't use my Xbox One for that.

 

Negative behavior for me would be I don't Open or even Install any new Apps because I don't want an App Achievement on my Profile. If MS wanted people using Apps they sure have a stupid way of making people want to do just the
opposite.



I know what they wanted but think people must be stupid. For years Achievement chasers want Achievements and Gamescore for stuff other then Games. Those people wanted the Gamescore as an inflation. MS jus figured those people
are too stupid and just gave 0 Gamescore Achievements as if that was close enough to what Achievement addicts wanted.



In the end they tried to make everyone happy and instead gave everyone nothing of what anyone wanted. 100% Fail on these.

I got one yesterday for using the Amazon app. An achievement for using an app. Talk about reducing the value of what used to be a cool feature. They should call Webster's and inform them that the definition of "achievement" has been changed to "badge of
a frivolous action taken".

 

i'm indifferent, they can stay or go, it won't affect me in the slightest.

couldn't hurt to give the option to disable it though.
