Does Anyone Broadcast on Twitch?

So, I did this yesterday for the first time while playing Telltale's The Walking Dead on Xbox One. I'm not using the Twitch app on the One as I'm using Elgato's software with my HD60 card. Twitch said I couldn't stream in full 1080P due to my (I can't
remember) computer or Internet speeds.

For the people that do broadcast stuff, what do you normally set your bit rate at?? I figured the Elgato software might automatically set it for me based off of my computer/laptop, but it didn't. My laptop is an Intel i7 quadcore, I have 16 GB RAM & crappy
Intel on-board graphics.

P.S. I actually had a few people watching which is a really weird feeling. (I was streaming webcam as well.)

I stream sometime, I use the twitch app for xbox and ps4 but the free OBS for PC.. There are some good videos out there to help set some settings. I just use default cause no one watches me, I will follow, what is your twitch name? I rather support smaller
streamers anyway, until you get big, then I out, LOL.

 

I personally don't see the allure of streaming. I feel like people would just think I was *** after watching me try to pose dead bodies in amusing positions for 30 minutes.

 

I can stream ok on my PS4 but when I stream on the X1 it looks all grainy. I really need to buy one of those capture cards. But I am holding off until some one releases a better capture card then whats already out there.

 

I prefer doing my videos on Youtube which is owned by Google not Microsoft. I use my Hauppauge HD PVR2 and the latest software release enables you to easily face cam record in the latest software which is Hauppauge Capture. I just prefer Youtube and pretty
much don't use Twitch.

 

Twitch is not owned by Microsoft... at least I'm pretty sure?

 

I would stream if I could - I have a few tricks up my sleeve on how to make myself entertaining enough to watch. Sadly, my connection simply isn't good enough...

 

Live Streaming sounds cool, but me and my friends can be unpredictable sometimes. Most of my friends are still stuck on Xbox 360 which is why I play more on 360. You then get some inadvertent immature language which is common some high pitched noises and
some old person watches it and has a lol or a ?what?. I simply just use my PVR to record, sometimes I need to edit stuff out, then upload it. I don't do live streaming even though the Hauppauge Capture software supports it. Me and most of my friends and lots
or people round the world use Youtube. That's why I broadcast on Youtube rather than Twitch.

 

Yea, I've recorded gameplay and uploaded it to YouTube. I don't have any problems with that. Twitch (owned by Amazon), I didn't necessarily have any problems streaming, the Elgato software makes it as simple as a push of a button... my issue/question was
in regards to what bit rate should I be choosing to stream from? The software doesn't auto-detect, it merely says, "You can't stream at this speed. Try this speed." The recommended resolution was something pretty bad, like 360P.

Oh well. I guess no one can answer my question. Everyone must use Twitch directly from the Xbox App then. I misspoke previously, the bit rate that was recommended had me stream in 480 P.

 

You need to do a speed test, you need 3mbps for 720p and you need 5mbps for 1080p
