Does an external hard drive work with xbox 360 e?

If your Xbox 360 does not have an official Xbox 360 hard drive installed, then that will be why the game does not work. For Backward compatible games to work on the Xbox 360 you need to purchase the official Xbox 360 drive. An external drive will not work.

Check for flash drives that are meeting the "ReadyBoost" requirements, they should work.

They can be either usb 2.0 or 3.0 (3.0 wont have any speed benefits, so 2.0 is the best choice based on the price).

i see so i could probably get 2 of these usb to download my stuff in to,so what about external hard drives,are those just incompatible with a xbox 360 ultra slim?
