Do you use your Kinect to play games on your Xbox One?

BF4 is one game that I would always have played with the Kinect because of the voice commands. However I don't own BF4 anymore.

 

I use mine for exercise, Xbox Fitness, Zumba, Just Dance 3, and will definitely get KS Rivals.

 

@Blue Illusion: It doesn't matter what George Carlin said - we're not gerbils and you know it. As for the physicality of the Kinect sensor, you're probably right, but there are ways to mitigate that if you're creative and smart. For example, your bowling
example - I actually have a set of 10 lb. weights that I use for exercise. I can simply hold those while playing the bowling game (and I have actually done this) to mimic the sensation of holding a heavy object.

 

^ Perhaps it doesn't matter to you what Carlin said... but it does to me. I appreciate a sense of humor and those who have one and I found his inference to be pretty **** funny. Of course I know we're not gerbils, even Carlin wasn't being that literal. Still,
using your example... take a step outside yourself and imagine how you look standing in front of your TV, holding a weight and going through the motions of bowling, then picture a gerbil in an exercise wheel. It's undeniable... and funny on an observational
level if one thinks about it.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not making fun of anyone or criticizing people for using Kinect to exercise. Especially if it helps those who otherwise may not exercise at all, more power to them. I'm simply pointing out that for some people (like myself) all the
creativity and smartness in the world aren't going to give it the one thing it lacks [for me]... appeal.

 

I used my Kinect for the first time today. I picked up Kinect Sports Rivals, and I'm actually enjoying it.

I, unfortunately, cannot actually play Kinect games in my room and moving the Xbox One to the living room is a chore. So I really don't, but if I had the room I would. I won Just Dance 4 and I keep meaning to try it out on an off day, but I just never feel
like moving the Xbox.

I'd love to buy Rivals though. I loved the first two Kinect Sports. I can also say I am extremely excited for Fantasia. I'll move the Xbox in a heart beat for that.

 

I've been having a blast with Kinect Sports Rivals so far. Rock climbing is killing me though. lol

I wish the Avatars on Xbox One was as cool as the ones in KSR. (Link to my Champion's Avatar below)

Galactic geek. There is zero way its a good idea to use weights in kinect. xbox advises and warns against it. maybe something that straps to your hand i guess but who has weights like that. Even then a 10 lb weight used as a bowling ball and slips
out of hand could be deadly for anyone in the room. the strap would only wreck your arm

i in zero way am giving my kids bats and tennis racquets or weights to play kinect.

@Safely: I use small rubberized weights that fit perfectly within my hands so there's a good grip that prevents me from letting go easily, unless you know, I actually want to let go... They look like

THIS. Also, when it comes to things like weights, it's a good idea to show children how to use them properly and safely (if you let them use it at all). Besides, I think common sense should say, "don't let go!"

 

My Kinect is in the box's never took it out I also had a Kinect on the 360 and never used it on that console.

Although you may be right about it being against what MS says, I remember specifically in Your Health and Fitness Evolved, it specifically asked me to grab my 10 lb. weights for a specific exercise lesson. In the end, it was only a suggestion - I won't take
it personally if you don't want to do it for whatever reason. I do recommend using it responsibly though, if you ever change your mind. For example, I would probably never use the weights for bowling myself - I'd use them for what they're meant for (which
is to say, for exercising).

i get it that there may be a fitness app asking you to lift something. I guarantee there is not one asking you to swing or throw towards tv though
