Do you use ADSL, VDSL or Fibre Optic Broadband for Xbox 1?

Hello all. I'd thought I'd bring this topic up about Xbox Live connection and your ISP and for Xbox 1 (and Xbox 360). My ISP is Telecom NZ (now called Spark). Since the company which is one of the largest and richest Telco companies in NZ doesn't have Fibre
even in NZ cities (if so, they're only in some suburbs), should we switch to Vodafone NZ which HAS fibre already to most NZ homes. I live in a big NZ city but will not name it on a public forum. The only catch is Vodafone is NOT NZ they're a UK company originally.
They are offering plans of 30/100/200 down and at least 10-50mb/s up and their plans are the same as Sparks slow ADSL Broadband plans. Tested my internet speed and it's on average 7-8mb/s down and 0.8 or 0.9mb/s up. It's becoming a bit unbearable from now
as I'm a Youtuber (only a small one) have a PVR and play on Xbox 360 and Xbox 1. It would be nice to have reliable and faster connection. Am not into VDSL as our ISP company gave our household a trial run of it about 3 years ago and had problems connecting
my HP Pavilion dv6 windows 7 intel core i5 laptop with 4gb ram wirelessly to the VDSL modem when our ISP gave the modem to trial it was part of a program and since VDSL still uses copper. (didn't have problems connecting via Ethernet cable but who wants to
    be tied down).

Otherwise for Xbox Live, do you use ADSL, VDSL, or Fibre? Thanks.

    :)

    Every Update why?

Get Fibre Optic Broadband. Downloading at ADSL speeds is slow. Fibre Optic should enable you to download Updates at super fast speeds.

I agree updates for Xbox and on your PC can get annoying. AVG wants an update. Adobe flash wants an update. Windows wants an update. There's even an update for my smartphone and our homes broadband modem. Fibre Broadband will help get it over and downloaded
quickly. Get VDSL if you can otherwise, VDSL is roughly up to 3x faster downloading and up to 9x faster at uploading. Uploads at ADSL speeds for me is like 0.9mb/s and download around 8mb/s. That uploading speed is almost as bad as dial-up.

Something peps with an Xbox 1 need to get use to is larger update sizes. This is because of the extra graphics and texture details which go into Xbox 1 games which may help the games to perform and look better or adding things to a game.

Day one update to take 15-20 minutes

Depends on how big the update file is. There is a speed difference between ADSL Broadband and Ultra fast fibre optic broadband. Mine averages around at least 8.0Mb+/sec down and 0.89MB/sec up. Fibre optic can do up to 100Mb/sec down or so and 10Mb/sec up
(from telecommunication providers n my country). Xbox One will have the aid of 300,000 servers compared to the 15,000 Xbox Live servers for 360.

I am with plus.net but out of contract, think I am going to swap to BT to get there new customer deal, and then swap back to plus net when their contract expires and swap back and forth.

On fibre optic, I think its 70is down/16 up.

We run 2 xbox ones, 2 360's, 4 smart phones, 4 desktops and 1 laptop off it without any real problems, don't need anymore TBH.

I use Virgin Media in the UK, 150Mb down and 10Mb up. There are 2 upload services one with 5Mb and one with 10Mb weirdly, I made sure I got the 10Mb package.

The download comes I pretty handy, esp when I checked my bandwidth usage on the Xbox and it says I used about 190-200GB during September Do you use ADSL, VDSL or Fibre Optic Broadband for Xbox 1? :)

  12. I have AT&T (which is the ONLY ISP available in my area) with DSL 6 mbps down and 1 mbps up (which is their best package in my area) at roughly 50-80ms ping with numerous drops and lag issues (it spiked to .1 mbps down and up the other day with over 4000ms
ping the other night). And it even has a data cap of 200GB per month, which means that with my gaming and streaming, we WILL hit it.

Their service is so bad that I just went to change my password for my account since I forgot it and the email they sent me with the temporary password to reset it didn't contain a temporary password at all! When I tried it again, they never even sent an
    email!

I tried talking to support both online and over the phone, but it's non-existent. Neither involves a real person and is designed in such a way that it just sends you in circles in an endless loop!

When I finally do get the temporary password (a miracle in and of itself) and try to put a new one in, I look at the password tips, since I have an invalid character in my chosen password and all it does is take me back to the sign in page... *sigh*

When I try to finally accept the final changes, the website gives me an error message and it doesn't work. I've lost over 30 minutes of my life trying to do this today just so I can answer the question posed in this thread. Do you use ADSL, VDSL or Fibre Optic Broadband for Xbox 1? :(

Do NOT use AT&T if you can avoid it. They are the worst!

And to stick the knife in a little bit deeper, my family pays $100/month for this BS when we used to pay only about $20! And I know just about any other service anywhere else is better than this price-gouging, monopolistic, PoS service!

I would switch if I had a choice - this is why I heavily support Internet neutrality. I know first-hand what not having it actually does.

    :'(
