^^ One your daughter is a little older maybe you'll get more time to play. Luckily my kids are 8 and 3 so I put them to bed a 8. Once they are asleep I'll talk to my wife for a few then its gaming time unless I go out or watch a movie or something. I can
play from around 9 and I usually don't stop til between 2 and 3. Wake up at 7:30 then off to work.

I start to play less games (and spend more time on each) since last gen.

Of course, time to time i buy more that i can play. But it's clearly frustrating spending a few hours or speed run just to complete a game.

Right now until "i don't know when" ,i really don't need to buy anymore games.

Between Witcher 3 (my 2nd playthrough takes more time than expected) plus Elite Dangerous and ESO,i can live without any new releases.

But i guess i might buy 2 or 3 games this fall.

    .....

When i was a "fastfood" gamer (late 90's) i became quickly bored with each game and got bored gaming in general.....Better to drink one bottle of alcohol instead of drinking several and get sick.

I play them along as they are fun. If I fail to finish a game, that is the developers fault not mine, they just didn't keep me interested. That said, I would never complain about a game being too long, becuase if I keep playing it, then Im still having fun.

Lol Genchy, you get used to it. I wake up easily now. Sometimes if I do feel super tired I'll go to bed around 12:30 or so.

  6. I'm like you, brand... the only way I can even play 2 games at a time is if 1 of them is SP like FO4 and the other is MP only or I've already finished the SP. Since MP is usually just vs and such, it's not the same to me, as being engrossed in 2 games at
once. But I couldn't do 2 solo type RPG's at the same time if that makes sense.

It really depends on your own preference IMO. I play fewer games a lot more, because I do become very engrossed with the really good games and that makes me feel I'm getting my money's worth. I don't really concern myself with whether or not I have a backlog
unless there happen to be a lot of games with MP, that I want to play, coming out in a short time. My backlog of SP games can be miles long for all I care, since there's no concern if others will still be playing when I get to it.

I don't mean this in a derogatory way, to each his own, but I find it a bit silly to just churn through games "like hotcakes just to get to the newest game". I see that as being a bit like watching a movie on FF just for the sake of seeing it. How much do
you get from it that way? Is it really worth buying, only to burn through it so fast that it loses its entertainment value in the process? It isn't for me.

Funny you should mention FO4... since mods have come out and can completely change the experience, it has dragged me right back in again. lol

I have such a short attention span. I just get bored of games so easily. It might just be my age as I'm 38 soon. For me there is very few games that have a great playability, or if they do they are marred by a forced multiplayer. The last game I found fun,
enough to keep me going for a few weeks was Diablo 3, until that big freaking giant kicked my a$$ too many times, so I stopped playing it.

Years ago I got such game rage that I smashed my pad and mobile up on the table. Since then I vowed to myself that if I ever get too miffed with a game I just stop playing full stop.

Metal Gear Solid was a good one for me, the latest one. Playability was great, there was a want to strive for those better weapons and what not. But alas, I got bored again and left it.

As I mentioned Destiny was a great core mechanic game, gameplay was really great. Again though the forced multiplayer miffed me.

The Division should've been a great game. However there's was a certain lack of fluidity to the gameplay that just didn't work. Shame really.

Seeing as I'm up ridiculously early I will explain my plight with multiplayer gaming. It's a rather personal, probably somewhat boring story, but anyway. Years ago I was in a hairdressers in a small village called Hapert In southern Netherlands. I had been
to a " exotic " festival that was in town the night before, now for anyone who has either been, or knows about Holland, you can imagine what a night it was. Anyway I was a little worse for wear and sat getting my haircut when I got this massive wave of pure
fear, it was just crazy. Needless to say I had to get outta there. I shot home, washed my face over with cold water, managed to calm down slightly and continued back to the hairdressers and explained that I had left something in the oven and forget. I managed
to get my hair finished but it was one of the most painfully fearful, awkward moments. It turned out I developed panic attacks and anxiety. Ended up leaving my job, flat, friends, everything over there and came back. I sought out some help from doctors, shrinks,
hypnotherapists etc'. I have, over the years manage to conquer this things, to a certain degree. However I still have really weird issues about being, kinda restricted in a social environment, whether it be real life, or in a group playing multiplayer ( I
have been to the hairdressers once ever since that fateful day Aug 31st 2001 ).

Apologies for the rather mundane life story, tis just a weird thing I have. It's all good now, I have a fiance, a 10yr old daughter, mortgage, job etc'. It's all good. I just have a few hang ups with social stuff.

So back to the case in point, after probably the worlds most convoluted answer to a question nobody asked. For me there seems to be too much choice, games and most things these days become somewhat disposable. I'll play a game for an hour or so, get bored,
never go back. Best game I ever got really stuck into was Ninja Gaiden. Absolutely loved that.

I read that little story. It's good you got over it. I loved my time in the Netherlands. I was there in 2007.

I would probably play more MP but when I play games I play at night. My wife goes to bed a 11.i If I make the slightest sound like I'm talking to people she always comes downstairs raging. She'll be like "stop talking I'm trying to sleep" blah blah so I
just quit playing MP altogether. It's not worth fighting with my wife about it.

She's normally asleep by 8.30ish, so Xbox is on from about 9 until 11 or 12 at best, then up for work at 7am. Kids + sleep don't normally go hand in hand, and just think of the extra gaming time you'd get if you didn't have to talk to the wife lol!

Back on the topic of more games for less time, I might get 3 hours tonight being a Friday so I plan on squeezing in some Batman Arkham Knight (just got it this week, not played it yet), some Forza 6 Porsche expansion, some Gems of War (Hero level 91 trying
to get to 100), and maybe a level on Halo MCC (nearly at the end of Halo 2 campaign).

  14. finding time to play is a problem all gamers face . if your a big film fan a typical film only lasts 1 and a 1/2 hours.but a game can last 50, 100 hours or more so even if you lived for ever a bigger and bigger backlog of games would be building up every
week.so even with eternal life you will get frustrated you have not got enough time to play all the games you want. HAVE A NICE EARLY MORNING ,LATE MORNING.EARLY AFTERNOON,LATE AFTERNOON,EARLY EVENING, LATE,EVENING EVERYONE.

I much prefer spending a lot of quality time with just a few Games as opposed to playing many Games for the sake of playing them. So far this Generation I've only played a dozen or less. I'm not really sure if that is due to quality
    or quantity though.
