Do you think Destiny will survive for 10 years?

Lost interest when i saw what the DLC had to offer for the price.

 

No it will not last 10 years. I am betting we see Destiny 2 by 2017

I will buy it as I like destiny and still play it every now and again, plus it is the most solid shooter i think I have ever played. The only problem with it is lack of content.

Hopefully they make the improvements that the game clearly needs by then.

 

My copy hasn't been touched since before the dlc came out & is getting traded in today.

As said,unless they have a massive rethink I can't see the game lasting 5 years,let alone 10.

 

Unfortunately I have to agree with many of you. I can't stand this game anymore. 2 of my best friends are huge fans of it though and they love to play the same stupid strikes and raids over and over again. I don't know what they find so appealing in this
repetitive gameplay. I actually wanted to like this game as well but they dropped the ball on so many things in this game.

I really hope this game will not last longer because our gaming group is now badly divided. The 2 Destiny fans only want to play Destiny (they already have over 500 hours in it) and the 3 others would like to play other games but its not happening. Out 5
man xbox nights got very rare the past few months...

Sad times and I blame Destiny!

 

Don't worry,i already heard the same things about COD,2D/8bit style games,Free to play,Microtransactions,DLCs,vinyl records,EA games,....

As long as there will be people to buy,i don't see why Destiny won't last 10 years.....Especially with 3 more games, 7 DLCs and the usual PR.....

 

^ I think OP was on about the current destiny game, no doubt there will be future releases and why not? Destiny is a decent game, just lacking in content.

I think Bungie know where they went wrong and will address it in the next game, well im hopeful at least.

So long as there are enough people like you that love the game and keep playing it for 10 years, then yes.... it will likely last a long time. However, I doubt the studio will actually keep pumping out updates that long.

For me on the other hand, it did not have the same draw and I only played it for maybe a month or 2 tops.

Even though I'm a hopeless Destiny junkie , i can't see me buying Into the next game . I probably will buy into whatever is offered for this game just to see how it all plays out , but after that , I'll move on to other games that will
no doubt have built up in my library .

Why are people still confused with the 10 year plan? The ten year plan is not just for Destiny but for multiple games in the series and all the dlc.

People keep saying is needs more content, story, weapons, etc but look how developers do things now. They just release barebones stuff and make you pay for more. Evolve is a great example. If you bought all the content they have made for it so far it would
cost you $160+. Developers know they cant get away with charging more than $60 for the base game so they make it as minimal as possible and then add a bunch of dlc to make more money. Bad business.

 

^ wouldnt be so bad if there was some more story based dlc but destiny is actually lacking in content when t comes to this.

They dont even have any to sell us yet.

 

Destiny is complete garbage in my opinion. It will not last 10 years.

Hey Boas BS5. I do not think it will last 10 years because, the story elements are completely limited. They have high profile actors in Bill Nighy who says little to nothing. And he "could tell you about the darkness" but he wont. The create a character
was unbelievably limited. Yes we have armor on, but we all pretty much look the same. Secondly, Any information regarding the lore is not in the game. You have to either go to the website or load up the app to read just about everything. Last of all...
You can not trade items that you pick up with friends.

 

It didn't even survive 3 months with me, so no, I doubt it. PS4 getting more DLC content for the same price also was a kick in the stomach, I've lost quite a lot of respect for Bungie. I bet we see a sequel in 2017.
