"Do you own this game or app?" message

Hi all,

I have recently purchased my first Xbox One S and Game Pass Ultimate.

I have obtained Toy Story 3 ("purchased" for free) via this month games with gold.

When I try to start it up, I get the message "Do you own this game or app? ...", and the game won't start.

The game doesn't show up on order history, but when I try to repurchase it -- it appears as already purchased.

I also tried restarting the console which didn't help.

Any ideas on what can be done to resolve this issue?

Reset your xbox and uninstall then reinstall the game, that should do it...

check to be sure you're designated as the home Xbox account on the console.

Thanks for the response. I'm sorry to hear the issue still persists. Just to confirm, was the game able to successfully install the first time? If so, I would recommend uninstalling the game and trying to install it again.

There may be an issue with how the license is applied to your account since something is blocking the detection on the console that your account doesn't have the license. I'll try to get more information to see if others are having a similar issue.

Let us know if you are able to re-install the game.

Hi, thanks for your reply.

I'm indeed connected to Xbox Live and signed into the correct profile. I have no problem running Game Pass games for example.

I have tried hard resetting as you suggested but it didn't seem to resolve the issue.

Is there anything else that can be done or someone to contact?

have you tried removing your account and re adding it to see if that fixes your issue
