    I have restarted, rebooted, read various forums and still can't get this to work. This seems to be only affecting the games I have on disc. I have it in the console and it still comes up. any additional help would be appreciated. Also I tried to chat
    with support and can't even enter my first and last name to enter the chat when I am logged in. Very frustrating.

    "Do you own this game or app?"

    I have a son, who I'm trying to restrict his game play to only certain games. We download all of our games online, and he has his own xbox screen name.

    I set the content restrictions on his account, so when he tries to play something not authorized, it asks me for my pin. This works perfectly.

    However, anytime he wants to play a game, we get the "Do you own this game or app? If you bought it online, sign into xbox live". The game will work, if I sign my account in, however I don't want to do that as now he has full access to all of the games
    by just switching the profile.

    What are my options here? I want my son to be able to play games that I've downloaded, but not have my account logged in. Is there a way to link his xbox screen name to my xbox live account, so he can play games without my account being logged in?

  3. I’ve tried everything

    I try to go onto Fortnite and it says do you own this game or app and I do own it. So I try signing into my other account to check if Fortnite would now work on but it doesn’t, so I try using Xbox help, asking my friends but everything I do doesn’t work.
    It also says you need to check if you the rights to play this game and I do( I do have Xbox live ), so all I ask is for Xbox to help me with my problem.

    Does it happen with every single disc-based games? What about DVDs or Blurays? If none of them work, the issue would appear to be the disc drive, in which case you might want to think of sending it in for repair.

    Windows store & Xbox (beta) games CTD on startup

    I'm having the exact same problem. 5 games, all go to a quick splashscreen, and back to desktop.

    I have tried everything that's suggested to no avail (even the reinstalling game services as an administrator or reinstalling the Xbox app).

    Can't even open Forza Horizon 4, a game i owned way before getting the Game Pass.

    This has happened to me several times too.

    1. Make sure if you've installed the game to an external HDD instead of your console internal storage, that the external HDD with the game on it, is connected to your Xbox One.

    2. Ensure the game or app is up to date, and that it has fully been installed.

    3. Ensure your console has the latest system update.

    4. Restart your console and try again if the above don't work.

    5. If the above don't work, contact Xbox Support, the official support agency Microsoft has delegated. Don't rely and wait for the reply of unofficial non Microsoft employee/support people to make a reply. Xbox Support since I've used it, is great. Although
    they're not perfect, it is the official support body from Microsoft. And Microsoft has quality control over Xbox Support and standards of what is expected from Xbox Support. Last time I contacted them, they sent me a feedback email for me to rate them on the
    service. In 2011 I rang them and they read of a script which was funny but kind of weird. But now they have chat so it's usually txt chat.

    please try the manual power cycle steps like mentioned on the following link, be sure to wait at least 60 seconds before powering on again:

    If that fails please check what happens when you set the console as Offline and try to start the game to see what happens.

    Sorry to hear it. If you have the disc version of the game you will need to insert it to prove ownership. If you had purchased a digital copy of the game then you would not need to do this. As for the DLC please highlight the game on the Home screen and
    press the Start button on your controller then select Manage Game. From there you can check to see if the DLC is installed to your console, if it is not you can go to the Ready to Install list in that menu and install the content so long as it was purchased
    under your account.
