"Do you own this game?" error for Game Pass download

Gamepass is on my partner’s account. We get this sometimes (not in MK). Signing out and back in again will usually solve it.

I've been getting that occasionally when I play Mortal Kombat 11. I'm running on the Alpha build, though, so I don't know if it is just a quirk or what.

If I go to the Dashboard mid-game and then turn off the console, when I come back later to play, either the game will state that it is not connected to the network (even though I'm signed in and connected) or it will give me the re-download from the store
error.

I have to press the Menu button on the game and force it to Quit and then sign out and sign back in to my account, then launch the game. For some reason that works and lets it start back up.

Not sure if it is the same problem you're having, but figured I would share my experience.

Do you own the game SOTTR or did you already download it with game pass?

If you have game pass and it expires you lose access to the content you downloaded via game pass.

Purchasing the season pass will not allow you to also download the game it is for; it is a separate purchase.

If you were to get the game pass and then purchase the game if you ever cancelled game pass you will still own the game due to you purchased it. Only time you would lose them for example if you download Forza Horizon 4 then you cancel game pass you will
get error do you own or want to buy the game due to didn't purchase.

So yes you will still be able to play the game without the subscription.

Do you own the game or had you installed it from Game Pass? If you own the game, what error message are you getting when you try to play?
