Do you need powerful hardware for Xbox One streaming?

Hello,

I am unfamiliar with game streaming. I have done some video streaming before. I am excited for the Xbox One to Windows 10 streaming feature. I am sure a lot of people have random setups but it will be useful for me. For instance, I have my Xbox One in the
basement with a theater setup on a 55 inch tv but at times, I am hanging out around the house elsewhere. I have a laptop and it has an i7 processor, but that is it. It does not have a dedicated GPU, just the i7. I am wondering will that be okay for streaming?
Do you need powerful hardware to stream or is it flexible and most of the processing is done on the Xbox One and software? Thanks!

Getting a new Xbox One?

I have heard rumours that AMD have been contracted for hardware for a new, more powerful Xbox One console.

I do not own an Xbox One console YET, however I am definitely planning to purchase one. I was wondering if anyone knows if it is true that there is a new console coming out because I do not want to waste money on a current weak Xbox One if there is a more
powerful version of the console in the making.

 

You will need at least a GTX 970 or better that support Direct 12 to be able to handle streaming Xbox One.

 

no you won't, it will be streaming the video source and controller commands, the xbox will be doing the grunt work.

 

As far as I know it is only required that your home network can handle the speed/data required for the stream.

I think one of the main things you'll need is a very good connection to your home network. For streaming, I wouldn't even think about trying to do it over WiFi if I could help it. I can get so much more throughput and less chances for interference, and
with game streaming you want to rule out any possibility of "reduced" bandwidth to your devices.
