Do you need gold to play the campaign for destiny?

Just the campaign not talking about multiplayer. And is there a co-op mode?

There is no campaign on last gen. To play split screen online you do need gold but offline you don't of course you can't play the offline in that version.

This was noted many times over you'll have to play multiplayer with him or zombies mocde.

Good news on x1 you only need gold and he'd have axess to your gold so no need for two gold accounts on x1.

There is no single player to redeem it was scrapped on last gen.

well you need PSN+ for multi player now... do not what fun streaming single player campaigns would be.. so its not free really now is it?

I'm wondering if I can't get gold right away, is there an option to play Destiny by myself on silver membership, like a private game or something. Kind of like playing Gears of war 3 offline with bots, just wondering if there's a solo play option for xbox
live silver even though it's an MMO FPS. If not, then it's alright i'll just buy a 12 month gold car a week in advance

I don't understand what everyone is saying, because technically you are connecting to the internet also with a Silver Membership. If only playing single player, can that be done for Destiny?

 

There is NO Single player. You need GOLD. If you are playing alone, anyone can follow you and help.

 

I'm not sure if I follow you because I found sources that say Destiny is both single player AND multiplayer.

 

There no real single player as in unplugging from the net and playing from the disk. The single player is wandering around the map and story line and not joining anyone who is near by.

 

And here I was thinking that I didn't know what I was talking about. For Xbox One, Gold Membership is not the only means of online. I found sources in forums that say this. Silver Membership is online too, although it is rather limited on certain features
such as multiplayer.

Now, just so we're clear, let's say that I only want to play alone. Is Silver Membership acceptable for the single player element? Also, I wasn't talking about offline or unplugging from the net. Where in my first thread did I say that? Silver Membership,
that's Free Membership, is also online. It is ONLINE, no matter how limited its features are. And Silver does not operate offline nor have some sort of offline mode.

And if I'm just going to end up with the same answer, is there at least someone else I can talk to?

I'm pretty sure you can play through campaign with a silver account, because before certain levels (strikes) it says "matchmaking" and "XBox Live Gold required". I haven't tried it out to be sure, but I'm not sure why they'd put the level description like
that if it wasn't trying to differentiate between gold and silver acccess.
