Do you need a licsen to develop XBOX games?

Because someone I work with say you don't. And you can make all the XB1 games you want.

Actually I saw in the official Xbox magazine Australia/New Zealand Edition (those magazines which cost $16 over here so you just look through them in the shop and not buy it and no one cares they can't force you to buy it) last year that some university
in Sydney or something offered a qualification in video gaming. I should give it a shot if I could. Xbox is managed by Microsoft, so you may need to speak with them too if you want to put a game on the Xbox platform. My body parts are not for sale. It would
be cool and fun to get a qualification in something as fun as video gaming or work for a video game store like JB Hi Fi or EB Games for a little, but I guess it would be kind of dull in some ways. One of my friends said to me wouldn't it be cool to work for
a video game store when you grow up.

 

If you want to publish a game on the 360 or Xbox One then you need to pay a SDK licensing fee. Indie games pay a substantially lower fee but Microsoft get a cut of the profits.
