Do you lose your saved games if you delete or uninstall a game

As you download more and more games, obviously your hard drive fills up. Can you delete or uninstall a game, to make room for a new game, then

re-download it in the future then continue your saved game?

Uninstalling a game I installed on the harddrive.

No. It is possible to delete the install without deleting your save game files. When you go to uninstall, the largest file, usually around 6-7gb, is the install. There will be other files that say saved game. Don't delete those. Just delete the large file.
You will not lose your saved games.

Disregard this? Oh well. And hey, when you uninstall games your data is still there. You won't lose any progress unless you delete the saved data.

Your game and your game's saved data are 2 different files. I believe you can see them both on your X1 in game management... as long as you only delete the game file itself and leave the game save data, then your game saves will stay there.

 

Yeah, always keep the save file. You never know when you want to play that amazing game again with all your progress there. Otherwise all that hard work was just a waste! D:

 

You're perfectly safe in doing that.

 

If you go to the memory slot under the system settings, you can get deletion suggestions. That'll let you be sure it's deleting just the game install/dlc & not your save. It won't offer saves as deletion suggestions.

 

Ok, I assume this is the same for both the Xbox and Xbox One.

If you are on the Xbox One, your game save file is also saved on server through the cloud. When you re-install a game your save will sync back toy where you last saved.

 

Bobazoid, my advice is for 360 only, can't speak for X1, but looks like you're covered still.

 

On Minecraft you lose your leaderboard stats but saves are still ok.

I accidently found a way to delete just the game last night. I can't remember what I did. I was a bit out of it. 5 hours of sleep in 21 days and my pain medications got doubled. I see if I can find it again and let you know. Enjoy E3!!! I'm getting
