    Do you know if a regular Xbox One controller will work on an Xbox One S?


    Hello, I have this fairly expensive custom controller for my Xbox One, but I'm thinking about buying an Xbox One S. I was just wondering if i spent all that money and it's just going to go to waste. I really like that controller, and it it would suck to
    get rid of it. So do you know?

    D-pad issues with NEW (3.5mm) Xbox One controller

    I've noticed that the d-pad will only work 100% of the time if you press it unnecessarily hard, but if you do regular taps, like on the normal Xbox One controller it won't registrar the taps.

    Are xbox one controllers the same as xbox one s controllers?

    You can use a regular Xbox One controller on an Xbox One S console, and you can use an Xbox One S controller on a regular Xbox One console.

    All controllers connect to the Xbox console the same way, via proprietary RF.

    If you are confused because of the addition of Bluetooth in the Xbox One S, just know that Bluetooth is only built into the Xbox One S controller (there is actually no bluetooth functionality in the Xbox One S console itself). The Bluetooth in the controller
    is just a secondary method of wireless connectivity designed solely for connecting the controller to a Windows 10 PC via Bluetooth (without the need of a
    USB adapter). It connects to the Xbox One/One S the same way as the original controllers do.

    as far as I know any Xbox One controller will work on any Xbox One (or Series S|X) consoles.

    So a controller that came with a Xbox One S, should work fine with a regular Xbox One.

    360 controllers are not compatible with the One.

    The Xbox One S is just smaller than a regular One and has 4k capabilities. Everything that works with a regular One will work with a One S.

    Yes, absolutely.

    In case there's confusion, the Bluetooth part in the controller is only for connecting it to a Windows PC. Bluetooth is not used on the Xbox One S, as the console does not actually have a Bluetooth chip.

    The Xbox One S controller still connects to the console with the same wireless protocol as any standard Xbox One controller.

    It even works vice versa! You can also connect a regular Xbox One controller to an Xbox One S.
