Do you keep game pass progress if you buy the game?

I’ve been playing Skyrim on GamePass,. If I buy the game and then cancel game pass later, will I keep all my progress in the game?

Also, does the edition make a difference? The Gamepass version is the special edition. If I buy the 10th anniversary edition, would I still keep my progress made in the special edition on Gamepass?

Yes your progress will be saved on the cloud. It won´t matter if you access the game through game pass or through a digital game license.

And no, the game edition won´t interfere with your progress

Yes. Your progress will still be on the cloud so you'll pick up where you left off if you buy the games or renew Game Pass.

If you do plan on buying a game, keep in mind you get a discount for buying it with Game Pass. So if you can, you may want to buy it before cancelling.

Your progress is automatically stored on the cloud and will resync if you renew game pass or buy the game. You won't lose progress if you cancel game pass.

No you do not get to keep the game. You will have to buy it after game pass to keep the game.
