Do you believe that the Xbox One X was a necessary development?

*** Facts and Details greatly appreciated, Opinions are also all right. ***

If you have an Xbox One X, would you say the improvement is worth it? If you haven't upgraded to an Xbox One X what is preventing you? Cost? No real reason to get one? Another console, system, to suit your needs? Lemme know.

    :)

  2. Kinect adapter for xbox one x

    Hello,

I have just upgraded from 1 X Box One + Kinect to 1 X Box One X and I wish to receive, free of charge, the adapter to use my Kinect as explained on your site. Can you do what's necessary?

    Project Scorpio

While "Xbox Scorpio" sounds awesome, I think the decision to name the new hardware "Xbox One X" was a result of wanting to separate the final SKU from the prototype. Otherwise, you confuse the consumer with outdated rumors and speculation. Additionally,
it seems necessary to include "Xbox One" in the "Xbox One X" name in order to denote that it is included in the same family/generation of hardware as the Xbox One.

  4. Do you believe that the Xbox One X was a necessary development?

I went from an Xbox One S to the Xbox One X this past April when I found a great deal. Did I need a new console? Not really, but knowing what was coming I had previously bought a compatible 4K HDR TV in anticipation when I could. This meant that I was only
missing the console that could utilize this other purchase.

Visually, I can tell a difference on certain games, the AAA titles mostly. However, my play style has transformed to more indie games than the big budget titles. Don't get me wrong some of those look great but most are probably hard pressed to see a difference.
Where I can see the difference though are things like load times. They increased noticeably. I generally feel like the experience is a little smoother as well but i don't really have anything to compare it to side by side.

In the end, I wanted to have the best console and for me, grabbing those electronics on the front end is more appealing. Had I waited another year, I would probably just push it off until the next console iteration (with all of the rumors floating around
    about its release).

  5. I am keeping the Xbox One I have til it runs out of life.

I want to upgrade to a Xbox One X but the price and I need a 4k Tv. So it is costly. I like to get the whole life out of a gaming system. I am sure I will upgrade at some point but not at this time.

The Xbox One I have works fine. Tv I have works fine. So, I guess no reason to.

  6. To me, the answer lies in what you want and who you are as a consumer. It is a console geared towards the tech-savvy consumer who wants to be the early adopter. People are able to not only afford the luxury of the console but also a 4K TV to support it as
well. Those are the types of people who will more than likely buy the Xbox One X.

Hi. Wow Xbox Forums have changed a lot since this start of this year.

I got the original Xbox One console with Kinect when it launched November 2013. I also still have my perfectly working Xbox 360 slim console from when I first joined Xbox late 2010.

I got the Xbox One X console when it came out last year, and like it. But was Xbox One X necessary and is there noticeable hardware and software improvement? YES.

The X has 12GB GDDR5 @ 326GB/sec bandwith. That means it has better hardware than the PS4 Pro. Fact. DDR3 is very weak for gaming with a greatly slower memory bandwidth. And the latency difference between DDR3 and GDDR5 is minimal. It also has better processing
power too which means better graphics and the Xbox OS which runs better on the X due to the better processing power.

Think of it this way. You have a $50 phone and a Samsung S9 phone, both with Android Oreo. Obviously the UI on the S9 will run better cause that has better processing power. Same with Xbox One X.

It adds convenience in that you're not waiting for slow DDR3 hardware which brings out weaker graphics (a lot weaker graphics) than the Xbox One X.

In terms of cost, when it came out it was RRP US$499, the same price Microsoft launched the Xbox One base console in November 2013.

I'd say it's definitely a big improvement and worth the investment. DDR3 just doesn't cut it for 2018. If you're gaming in DDR3 still in 2018, you're doing it wrong ^u^. Microsoft has over 100 Xbox One X Enhanced games. And just like PC gaming, higher graphics
settings like max/ultra/high ARE NOT just reserved for 4k screens. Graphics quality can be tuned up enjoyed on 1080p with better textures etc. I played Final Fantasy XV on both normal Xbox One and the Xbox One X. The X console looked like a million dollars
where as the graphics on the Xbox One base/s console looked like it had been drawn with a crayon. Same with Screamride. Water detail looks like real life where as on the base/s console, looks like it was drawn using crayon.

The detail is real. However if you're not into rich graphics and enjoy a slow machine and longer loading times and are on a stricter budget, then the Xbox One S console the cheaper alternative is an option too.

It was necessary cause the younger generation want convenience and flashy looking games rather than wait for a slow piece of machine.

It was also necessary so that Microsoft and Microsoft Fans can respond to Sony Bullies who have been criticizing more than anything about specs since before I joined Xbox late 2010. Sony has no official info about PS5 specs or even a release date. They have
no come back hardware wise yet so they changed the subject from hardware to game exclusives. Wait until PS5 comes out then they'll switch back to hardware.

I joined Xbox cause Xbox 360 is the only 7th gen console that has PARTY CHAT (not cheap game chat), as well as other better social media features including voice and picture messaging and avatars and a great UI (not so much with Xbox One, but they've improved
greatly from the disaster of a slow laggy inflexible UI which launched November 2013).

I watched a YouTube video which had a bunch of kids comparing Xbox and PS and 7 chose Xbox and only 3 chose PS. Xbox just has better social media features in it's UI than the competition has. I mean you can even change your gamertag for years! (same with
YouTube your channel name you can change it). Sony is behind in that department.

I got one day 1 and I think it's worth it, but only because I bought a new 4k tv a few days before the console was available. I like being the early adopter.

    If I didn't have a 4k tv then I wouldn't bother.

  10. I picked up a day one console and haven't had any issues. With 4k becoming more prevalent and the increased capabilities of the X make it a worthy while upgrade to the original. I'm with some others though, I'd be concerned about picking one up now and only
getting a couple years out of it before they release another console.

At this point I may still get an X but will just depend on how much extra cash I want to spend. I personally, don't want to trade in my day one console just to get an X. I like to think its going to be a cool collectible in the future. Similarly if i could
get my hands on a scorpio edition X I'd hold on to it for as long as I could.
