    Do you always need internet connection to play?


    This is probably a dumb question but a couple weeks ago I got an Xbox one. I took it to my cousins house to get it setup and stuff. And he said I should be able to play it without internet. So I brought it home and tried to sign in but it kept saying I needed
    internet to sign in. So do I really need internet all the time to sign in and get to my saved game? Sorry if I posted this in the wrong place I'm just really confused and need help. Thanks!

    They say it doesn't always need to be online, but it needs to be connected to the internet. Which is confusing to me honestly, but its what they've said in interviews.

    When you purchase digital property it downloads to your harddrive and you do not need to be connected to the internet to access your content. You need internet only for internet only games.

    The message should say that you need Xbox Live on the console but if you head to Settings you can turn that off.

    Being connected to Live is not a requirement (except for online games such as Destiny) but will expand your gaming horizons on the console.

    Yeah it says when this Xbox isn't connected we can't sign you in. But I can't seem to turn it off.

    It's not ALWAYS online, but does require you to connect online. MS statements have all been semantics. basically you need to connect to the internet to use the console at least 1 time every 24 hours (which could be changed to more or less time) if your
    intenet goesout you can play fine for the first 24, then basically you can't do anything until you get internet back.

    Xbox One Wifi Issues

    Sorry to hear it. The problem with an internet connection is that if you're using the net on multiple devices it can degrade the quality of your connection. This happens more with a wifi connection.

    If at all possible you should always try to use an ethernet cable when playing. If you cannot do this then you may need to look into getting slightly faster internet or a wireless booster to see if that helps.

    It goes without saying that you will need a decent internet connection for the next-gen much in the same way you do in this gen, but a wired connection (if possible) will always be better than wifi.
