Do XBox Home Switches change with the account?

This question is in regards with the Xbox Home Switches. Does the amount depend on the account or is it separate from the account? As in if my friend has a new account with no switches, does that mean if I log in with it I can switch it 5 times or only
the amount of times I have already done it.

The number of switches is tied to the account. Sharing account log in information is against the code of conduct.

That means the previous owner left the console as their Home. Their accounts doesn't have to be there for that. You will lose the games if they do change their Home or you switch consoles.

Even if someone has set their console as home with your account, you should be able to set your own Xbox as home, as console homes can be switched 5 times a year. Do you get any error when you try to. Because you have changed your account password, and
if you set your console as home, other person can not do that again as he can't login.

Unfortunately it is not possible.

The only way for a switch to happen is for someone to sign into his account on a different xbox then what is currently the home xbox and make that xbox the home xbox.

If you are on your current home xbox and tell it to not have this as my home xbox anymore then before making a different xbox your home xbox decide to make that one your home xbox again it will not count as a switch.

There is a survey that your friend can take when the box comes up saying that he has used up all of his switches there is a link he can click on and take the survey to see if he would be eligible for them to give him another switch.

Your friend may want to change his password on his account to make sure that no one else has access to his account where they can sign in and make their xbox his profiles home xbox.

Once he changes his password it will require the new password to be entered whenever someone tries to sign in again with the account that hasnt already signed in with the new password.
