Do xbox gold cards still stack up to 36 months?

I saw on a retail website that microsoft no longer allows stacking of these cards. I wanted to check to be sure? The exact quote was:

"Please Note: The 'stacking' of Xbox Live subscriptions is no longer allowed by Microsoft. Users will receive an error when attempting to add more than one subscription card at a time."

yes, you still have the 12 months since it's a prepaid card. Plus, you can also redeem it now since xbox live gold subscriptions can be stacked up to 36 months.

Parity is correct here, You should still be able to stack up to 3 years of Xbox live using those pre paid cards. If you are coming across any issues you may need to manage your current subscription, if you have one, here : Services
and Subscriptions

Please note that you may not be able to stack a pre paid subscription onto a subscription that was started via credit/debit card

From everything that I can find that is incorrect. You should still be able to stack up to 36 months.

Gold stacks. You can add up to 36 months of gold at a time.

If the card has an expiration date, it would be listed on the card, but otherwise it would not expire.
