    I don't really care. I do not care what the gender or race of a character is. It is completely irrelevant. I had just as much of a good time playing Tomb Raider as I did any game with a male lead.

    I just want a great story, GTA gives me that, Saints Row does not.

    If it fits into the story well enough, I don't see a problem with a female character taking the lead. Games are far from eradicating chauvinism though, if that's what you're trying to get at.

    True, but the online isn't really like story mode. Sure, they have missions and all, but it's not really a story line...Which is what the OP wants for a female lead.

    Stepping stones, let's get a female supporting character first that is crucial to the story and not some throwaway character that the story would be fine without. I believe it best to write a character for a story, not a story for a character unless its
    an established character. If Sam and Dan Houser come up with a story for GTA 6 and say hey this would work better with a female lead go for it. If they instead do what Gunslinger brought up then I feel it would probably be weaker than if done the other way.

    Who cares? I mean seriously, who cares? Not once has my enjoyment of a game hinged on what gender the main character was. When real world discrimination is gone i might spend a second or two giving a crap about what a fictional characters' gender is,
    but until then, just make good fun games. period.

    Especially if the do multiple playable characters again like they did with GTA 5, would be cool if one of them were female.

    I have conflicted feelings it on--mainly because it's Rockstar's game. If they want a male lead, there isn't anything wrong with that.

    But I also support diversity in this medium, and see no reason not to either.

    I think GTA is more interested in having their females walk the streets providing services. I'm sure lots of guys would love having a Mob Wife character to play with though. Maybe they could even pick up some male hookers!
