Woah, holster the pistols lads. We're all lovers here so lets leave that at the door Do They Use OpenSSL on This Site? :)

I was going to post in here sooner to the time it was created. I have very minimal knowledge on OpenSSL / Heartbleed. I have no idea what OpenSSL even is. I did forward this question higher up but have yet to have a response although that source that Cosmic
posted (thanks dude) seems to answer the question just fine. Truth be told I though when I first read the word Heartbleed in another thread that it was some sort of ESO DLC or something lol.

Either way I am glad it's been resolved and answered.

Most major companies would most likely use a proprietary ssl implementation, not an open source version, but unfortunately 95% of the worlds websites that use ssl are going to have to update at some point otherwise they will remain insecure.

On another note about passwords, we may as well start following big corporations regime and change our passwords on a 2 monthly roll starting now, then you would be even more secure.

  3. My password is changed frequently. In fact I change it that much I have those days where I try signing in and I have no idea what my password is lol. One word of advice which is pretty standard, never use the same password for 2 different things.

Speaking of passwords, I would LOVE a password where a backspace counts as a character. Like lets say my password was 'dino[backspace x4]saur'. That would epic.

Or use two-factor authentication. Or better still, both!

  7. Do you mean 2-step verification? I use that buddy. It's a great measure indeed but can be a pain in the neck sometimes -_-

Digging the sig by the way. Though it makes me look a bit more skilful than I am lol. Looks a bit matrix like too, unless that's the intent and I have just thoroughly earned that spot in the sig lmao

Well we thought we were safe.

Gearbox have confirmed that they believe their data may have been compromised by the "Heartbleed Exploit".

They have updated their site and are encouraging users to change their passwords.

    Did you play "Borderlands 2"?

If you did, that means you.

Anyone who registered for Shift to play "Borderlands 2" is potentially affected.

Gearbox say they don't believe any accounts have been affected but then they also made "Aliens: Colonial Marines".

Best thing to do since they have acknowledged the error and fixed it is simply to reset your password for the site. Gearbox are sending most people emails to this end.

I have the full set of 'Proofs' set on my account.

Made sure they are all up to date since I had an email asking me to confirm that I wanted to change my password.

Nobody is having my 9 year old account dammit!!!! Lol.

I had an email from Google the other day telling me that some toerag in London had tried to access my email account at 3:00am using my legit password. Gmail blocked access due to the unusual activity and I changed my password next day. Just goes to show
