Do the rent-a-servers, "sell out?"

I'm in California but the only available servers for me to rent are in Australia and Asia. Western U.S, Eastern U.S. and European servers were not available. That said it showed my connection to the available servers as being 4 of 5 bars so maybe it would
run ok after all???

Also, being the BF newb that I am, I'd love to just mess around with some friends and try and get comfortable with all the vehicles and maps without getting blasted left and right, so in these rented servers does one have the power to, "close," it and/or require
invites to join so randoms don't come in? Any light anyone can shed on the subject is much appreciated.

a. find new friends that have the game

b. rent servers, i'm guess to get full acess to maps I had before

c. sell the game on Ebay

From memory it's "Inc running DICE servers" or something like that?



Don't do anything useful to the filter whatever it is - you still get mostly rent-a-servers.

 

I believe they do sell out. Cause this happened to me on BF3 when that first came out. Ton of people went out and bought the 1 or 3 day and all the servers were gone and I was ready to whip out the cash for a 90 day server. Think I only had to wait a
couple days then had a choice of a couple regions then.

 

Thanks, that makes sense as there can only be so many. I guess I'll have to try at some odd hours perhaps to get the jump on peeps.

Can you shed any light on my other questions? Like, can you make it a private so no randoms join?

 

Well I never had a rent a server for BF4. But for BF3 I had clan matches with my BEER clan. Think we only had about 4 clan matches. I believe it was private with password or invite only. Cant remember was so long ago. Also the servers are buggy as well.
I use to be kind and hand out a ton of admin privileges and VIP rights. But after have so many different admins making different playlists.

The server hiccups and the rightful owner gets a glitch where you don't see the name of any of the playlists or the VIP list or admin lists or banned lists or the name of the server. Then have to sit on the phone with EA. Then after a while they give you
another free server for complaining while keeping the old buggy one as well. After a while was up to 3 BEER servers.

Cause our servers got popular since we had mic's only team chat. Mic-less players were kicked. But got old and felt like I was babysitting the room more then actually playing. Then after a while said do whatever you want except no glitching on metro or
the newer roof top glitches on the new dlc. Also seemed like people would get cocky if we changed the playlist or the game modes or from hardcore to core or vice versus.

I was like well chip in then, get some rights of your own playlists. lol I bought the 90 day package twice and one 30 day package. Then rest of BEER clan chipped in for 90 day package. Besides a few free servers for complaining. Was some good times
till Dice nerfed tons of weapons and BF3 wasn't the same.

 

Another thing I forgot to mention was password rooms automatically unranked. Also if you mess with the health meters and other stuff it eventually becomes unranked as well if you change to many things.

 

Rental Servers are a rip-off.....I rented mine weeks ago and still can't get in the dang thing....thought I'd be a rebel and NOT create a 24/7 Metro server....y'know, play all the bigger maps, make my buds admin for 3 months bla bla bla ....but since XBL
and DICE combined suck....nope....there's a server 'BRAIN DONORS' that I can't play, that I paid for taunting me

 

Battlefield Hardline will fix everything and there should be zero problems ever with it and Dice.
