    do the new Xbox one S controllers have better range? Are they backward compatible?


    I have my xbox one in the living room. on the direct opposite wall is the master bedroom with its 40: HDTV. I initially ran a HDMI cable through the wall and connected it to the bedroom HDTV in hopes of being able to play games as well as stream content
    (Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, etc) in this bedroom.

    While I had no problems with hooking up its HDMI connection, I came to learn that the controllers would not work good through the wall (like my PS4 can easily do). I read up on the internet about this problem and apparently its a common one. Therefore, I
    never fully pursued this option.

    I was wondering if the new Xbox One S controllers have better ranger than the original Xbox one controller. If so, can they still be used with the older Xbox one unit?

    If not, is there maybe a bluetooth dongle of some kind that would allow me to use my standard Xbox one controller from within the room next door & through the wall? Or any other suggestions?

    I'm curious if the Xbox One Elite controller is compatible with the new Xbox One S console. Also, are you able to connect original Xbox One controllers to the Xbox One S or is everything limited to the Xbox One S controllers because they use Bluetooth as
    the primary way of connection?

    Why not setup your tablet or phone as a smartglass device, which take use of Wi-Fi Direct. Two Wi-Fi Direct speaking devices don't have to be in immediate proximity to one another.

    Whats the difference?

    The Xbox One is not backwards compatible which means that it won't run 360 disks.

    The cost of Xbox live is the same.

    The amount of interest towards which console is better is subjective.

    The Xbox One offers a plethora of new features ranging ranging from graphical upgrades to having the ability of watching TV while you game.

    As an owner of an xbox one s I do play xbox 360 games with backwards compatibility. The simplest way to explain how it does this is this: the xbox one essentially opens up the xbox 360 software to be able to play the games that are backwards compatible.

    Next generation

    Assuming the backwards compatibility is near seamless for the Xbox One titles, it will be a grand start for the Series X range.
    I'm assuming that the Series X is based on the same type of architecture as the Xbox One/X, so it should be a lot of easier to have Backwards Compatibility work right out of the box instead of needing to make an emulator like they had to do for Xbox 360,
    and original Xbox Backwards Compatibility.

    I'm really looking forward to finding out more!
