    Do not send Xbox to Microsoft for repairs


    Microsoft and I have been back and fourth for the past couple weeks due to my Xbox not being sent. I sent my Xbox for repairs. (Paid the extra $10 for expedited shipping), no problem, the package gets there. Once it’s finished I
    get my tracking number for the Xbox to be sent back, but all the tracking information has to say is ‘label created’ which means the carrier has never received that package yet, or they would have scanned the package to their truck. So. I wait 3 days to give
    Microsoft a call about this, and after a pointless conversation with a representative. She transferred me to a supervisor that tells me it’s going to take upto a month to be delivered to me. Ridiculous. I’m personally never using Microsoft service again.

    Xbox Original DVD replacement

    It's an original Xbox, not an Xbox 360. I don't believe Microsoft repairs the original consoles anymore, so that's why he can't send it in for repairs.

    Just for reference, if anyone else breaks the seal on your Xbox then your Xbox can never be repaired by Microsoft ever again. They are the only authorized repair center.

    Once that tamper seal has been removed, the repair center won't touch your xbox.

    Opening your Xbox and trying to self-repair is a violation of the terms of service. Microsoft won't touch it once it's been opened, so even if you send it in for repair, they will immediately send it back.

    @BongKaos - Microsoft are the only ones who are authorized to do repairs on consoles.

    Look for a local PC repair shop that also does console repairs. You DO NOT have to send it to Microsoft for repair.

    Unfortunately, Microsoft doesn't service Xbox 360 consoles anymore. So you can't send them in for repairs, I'm afraid.

    The console has to be taken to a Microsoft certified/approved shop. The shop doesn't do the repair, it sends it to Microsoft for the repair. Hence my comment.
