I know the xbox service is DOWN what my question was is why all my games I bought digital will NOT play OFFLINE.

Do not merge my post with this one. I know the service is down. Im asking why ALL my digital games cannot be played OFFLINE.

Assassins Creed Black Flag, Call of Duty Advanced Warfare, Destiny, Fifa 14, Fifa 15, Need for Speed Rivals, Minecraft Xbox One Edition, Titanfall and Trials Fusion all bought digitally and are now USELESS since I cannot even play them. So much for a me
going digital what sucks more is I paid more for the games than they would have cost me on disk and I get *** over for it.

Do not merge this to another thread about how to connect back. I want to play my games I own OFFLINE.

Can't figure out many errors with my xbox

One more thing, if it wont let me re-update an I really use my Xbox and since the other thread with my same status code someone recommended to remove hard drive how do i do that?

It's their way of stopping people allowing others to play games they purchased by making the profile that purchased the game need to be online at all times. While good in theory, the practical application has proven to be anything but. I get very little
time off work where the TV is just mine (Today is the first time that's happened in two weeks) and now I can't even play any of the games on the xbox. It's become a bit of a farce really and has made me severely doubt whether I made the correct choice in consoles.
Thankfully, it's never too late to switch and if this continues much longer I'll be washing my hands of the console and seeking my gaming enjoyment elsewhere.

 

Try going into the settings and hit the go offline option. Worked for me.

 

Wish I could just play the games I own. I goto select offline option and it then tells me to enable my home console once the xbox once I connect to the internet. Well thats great since the xbox is connected to the internet but cannot change it since xbox
service is down. I would trade my xbox one in for a ps4 right now if I had not invested so much money into digital games. I will NEVER buy another digital game from Microsoft ever again.

 

I agree with you completely. It will be guaranteed that I will never purchase a Microsoft product again, I pay good money for the live service plus even more good money for the games purchased digitally which actually costs them less money, no shipping
no disk and no box, but how they choose to repay us, preventing us from using any of it when we have the time to during the day with no forward notice or anything. It's now become acceptable for a service which we are constantly paying for to become not available,
xbox live, I'm referring too. Worst of it all we can't even use the products which are of a one time cost like our digital games. To be honest I feel as though I've been had... I pay for a service I can't use, which also means all the other products I have
paid for I also can not use, only because the service I am paying to use is, unannounced unknown as to why unavailable..... Welcome to Microsoft where we *** you but first we take all your money.....

 

Most of my digital downloaded games work just fine, except the ones included in the EA access program. Which is because they have an "expiry date" related to your membership. You can only play them when you re online because it has to check the date and
if your membership has already expired.

 

I forgot: do your non-ea games work?

 

Still waiting for an answer from support about this issue. I am not happy about this at all its been 2 weeks now without an answer. Whats wrong with support?

 

You need to have your console set as home console when wanting to use digital purchases offline. That's the way digital rights management is realised on the system. If you are wanting to play your games offline on a console not set add home console it will
not work at all.

 

What McFly said - it has been two weeks since you initially posted this problem, have you not tried to go in and set your home console since then? If you do that, I can assure you your digital games will play offline, because the license will be tied not
only to your Gamertag, but in the event of a network outage or choosing to go offline, the license will also be on the console, allowing you to play offline.

This is the main reason you have to sign in as yourself on a friend's console to play your games on their system, because the console actually does a license check to the Xbox servers to make sure it's an authorized version of the game being played by an
authorized license holder.

 

You need to make you xbox your Home console.

Just go to settings app then select 'My Xbox'

Then make your console your home console. This will allow you to play your digital games while offline.
