Do i need to replace power supply for xbox 360?

I have xbox 360 S model that's about three years.

Since yesterday, my console has been shutting off randomly. It does not even make it past hour and a half.

Every time it does, I noticed the power supply has red light. When I let it cool down it has orange light and when I turn it back on it turns green, until it randomly shuts down again.

Does this mean I have to replace the power supply or is it the problem with the console itself?

Hi. One thing I'd like to ask, is the power supply's vents covered by any chance? When the power supply's light turns red, it means that it's overheating. If you have the power supply near a wall, covering any of the vents, it then works harder to cool the
device down.

Make sure your power supply is in a well ventilated area, the vents unblocked. If it continues to do this even after you've let it cool down and then try it in a ventilated area, then it's probably time to get a repair request set up or buy a new power supply.

Hi,

Power Cell? Do you mean the power brick, as in the external power supply? There is no 'power cell' in the Xbox 360 consoles.

Microsoft no longer make or support Xbox 360 console power supplies. If you believe your power supply is failing you'll need to replace it. Unfortunately Microsoft no longer sells these, but there are plenty of places you can source a replacement.

I doubt you'll find a 'new Xbox 360E'.

Solid green or solid orange light: Your power supply is working. If your console won’t turn on, try our

Xbox 360 No Power Solution.

Flashing orange, solid red, or no light: Your power supply may need to be replaced. Try the following solutions:

If the power supply light is solid red or flashing orange, unplug the power supply and let it cool for 30 minutes. Then, plug the power supply back into the outlet.
