Do I need to re-purchase Minecraft (Bedrock)?

I bought Minecraft Bedrock in 2017, I would like to redownload the game and play it again, but it says I have no games in my owned apps, and the page for Minecraft only has a buy option. I double checked, and I am signed into the correct account, and I see the purchased game in my order history, on the same account. Is there a way to fix this problem?

Did you buy "Minecraft" or "Minecraft: Xbox One Edition" back in 2017? I only ask this because they are two different games.

I'm sorry but the free update from Minecraft Xbox One Edition to Minecraft Bedrock Edition is no longer available. If you would like to upgrade this time, you will be needing to re-purchase the bedrock edition.

You may need to request a refund from the store where you have purchased the wrong version in that way you can purchase the correct game version.

The issue here is related to platform licensing differences, Minecraft Bedrock Edition on mobile (tablet) and Bedrock Edition on Windows PC are technically separate purchases, even though they’re both part of the Bedrock ecosystem.

If you want to play on both devices, you’ll need to purchase Minecraft for Windows separately.
