    Do I need to port forward, and if so, how?


    My Xbox app randomly turns my NAT type to strict and blocks me from talking in party. First, I don't know why it randomly blocks me. One minute I'm in chat, a few random disconnects, and now it wont allow me to connect. I've restarted my pc, router, and
    xbox. It gives me solutions for port forwarding but I'm clueless.

    Any help is helpful

    ICMP error. Can't connect to internet or Xbox live on console only

    I suggest this maybe a router problem! Here is what to do. You will need to check if UpNP is enabled and manually port forward the Xbox Live Ports.

    Xbox live ports:
    support.xbox.com/.../network-ports-used-xbox-live

    Just google how to port forward with your router model if you do not know how to!

    [FIX] strict/moderate NAT issues

    If UPnP is working correctly you do not need to manually forward any ports.

    Best place to start is to go to the website portforward.com and read over there guide and how to guide

    Paul from Xbox Forums Team here to assist with the issue, It looks like the NAT type keeps switching over to Strict thus causing connectivity issues with the Xbox One. Are you wired or wirelessly connected to the internet on the Xbox One? As previously mentioned
    if you'd like to do port forwarding on the Xbox one definitely check out that website
    PortForward they've got tons of info and a guide on how to set up port forwarding. If it still seems a bit much to do then I definitely suggest reaching out to your internet service provider
    for assistance with this issue. All they require is the networking ports for the Xbox one which here is a link to those port numbers.

    Network ports used by Xbox Live on Xbox One     I hope you find this information useful.

    Hey there!

    In addition to Fibre's good advice, one of the best resources you can use when it comes to port forwarding is
    Portforward.com. You can select the specific router you own on that page to see specific steps for your router. Depending on your ISP and if you are using a router/modem provided by your ISP, you may need
    to reach out to them for assistance with forwarding the right ports.

    One thing I would like to note is that we do not recommend turning on UPnP and then opening ports, it's better to have one or the other.

    How do I port forward???

    UPnP definitely has to be enabled and port forwarding can be a hassle. I've done it a few times myself but my router allowed me to do more than 5. Before getting into this mess some routers have a better option in my opinion. Can you search around your
    router firewall for anything called DMZ or Advanced DMZ?

    NAT type used to say moderate until I changed it to upn plug n play or whatever its called
