Do I need to leave game disk in while downloading DLC?

I am currently downloading a whole bunch of DLC for Battlefield 4 on Xbox One. Do I need to leave the Battlefield 4 game disk in, or can I play a different game without interrupting the BF4 downloading?

so you install the game then there is no need to put disk in again?

If I am reading this right you put disk in for the first time and after that you don't need to install again. why don't Microsoft have the game installed to the cloud already and when we get the disk we install a patch to beable to play on the cloud.

sony said you can play the game while it is downloading. in order for it to do this. they have to play on some type of cloud.

Trouble downloading mass effect 3

I bought a 360 version of mass effect 3 from game stop. It has 2 disk and upon downloading the 1st disk the game said it was installed so I tried to play it and the screen went black.What do I need to do to get the game fully loaded...the guy at
gamestop said just plug the second disk in but the console says this game is not compatible please help thanks

Check to make sure that the dlc you have is in your manage games scetion for each game. Usually dlc is downloaded and the disk is not needed. Once in a while GwG title will offer a game with the dlc but its rare .

My guess is the games are coming on one or more disks, but the dlc may need to be downloaded.

Do you have enough storage space for the DLC?

There are several types of games involved here:

1. Downloaded from the store

- If your account is the account that originally downloaded the game, you should be able to download an use it on the second Xbox. Only the account used to download the content can use the content on the second Xbox.

2. Activated from the disk.

- You'll need to take the disks with you from Xbox to Xbox, or have a separate disk at each Xbox.

3. Activated from disk and using down-loaded-content (DLC) add-on.

- A combination of 1 & 2. Download the DLC on the second Xbox and carry disks or have a second copy.

4. Installed from disk.

- In my experience you still need to have the disk in the drive, even when you have installed the game. I do not see how transporting the HDD helps. I would handle this as in 2 (or 3) above.

Notes:

1. If the downloaded content was not downloaded with your account, you can only use it from the Xbox the content was originally downloaded on. The original downloader can transfer the licenses to the 2nd Xbox, but then you can't use the content on the
original Xbox.

2. To use your current saves via cloud, start your game, load your save, then resave it to the cloud. I believe some games do not allow you to switch save location from disk to cloud after the game has started, and this will not work.

3. Before the cloud storage became available, I used a transfer cable to carry my saves between Xboxes. If this idea sounds like what you need, we can go into more detail.
