Do I need gamepass to play Minecraft on bedrock (I am a PC player)

This question has probably been answered and I am kind of skeptical of this.. I just looked over my account and saw my PC gamepass was going to expire. This worries me because I also try to produce content on servers for Minecraft bedrock. I was wondering if me running out of PC gamepass would have an affect on my ability to join servers as it does for Xbox players. Can I please get some clarification?

May I ask what is the exact error or issue that you’re experiencing whenever you’re trying to play the game?

Also, you’ll need the Minecraft for Windows PC if you will be playing with a player that also uses bedrock edition of the game.

There are several different versions of minecraft. Minecraft: Java edition is PC only and can only crossplay with Java players (mac, Lenox, PC) The minecraft that doesnt have a version next to it is the play together version or more commonly called bedrock.
Bedrock is the version that can be played across mobile, console, and PC. There are also editions that are made specifically for most consoles and even a stand alone mobile version. Examples would be Minecraft: Xbox One Edition, Minecraft: Pocket Edition.
These do not work with Bedrock which is just called Minecraft. Java is the most updated version of minecraft while bedrock would be right behind that one. The others I'm really not sure how often they update them if at all. Each edition of Minecraft has to
be purchased separately. I happen to own both Minecraft: Xbox one edition and Minecraft since they released at separate times. I also have Java on my PC. As for your issue they do not have a Bedrock version on the 360.

No i didnt have xbox gamepass before, but like i said i purchased it and installed it directly from the playstore. This allowed me to play bedrock on pc as well, but then again, not java. So just to clarify, does this mean that if i purchased the mobile version, i can only play bedrock on the pc? not java included?

oh and just to add, not only can i play bedrock, i can also play other games as well that arent meant to be for free. These games are minecraft dungeons and minecraft legends. All these games i can play, EXCEPT for java.
