    If you buy it from Xbox, it's $4.99/month, $24.99/3 months, and $59.99/12 months. It's generally much cheaper to buy a prepaid card from somewhere else online though. You can generally find a 12 month subscription anywhere around $30-$40.

    You need a Gold membership to be able to play multiplayer games. You don't need a Gold membership to play local or solo games, but it's needed when you want to play online with others or to be in Xbox Live parties. Do you not feel that all of the other
    perks that come with your Gold membership are worth it? The Xbox Live service is an incredible thing.

    While I don't have a solution for your original problem, you do NOT need a Gold membership when you want to play online on a PC.

    You ONLY need a Gold membership on the Xbox consoles.

    Like others have said. To play GTA Online you NEED Xbox Live Gold Membership, as Xbox Live Silver Membership is not supported. You will need to go and buy a Xbox Live Gold subscription to be able to play GTA Online.

    Keep in mind if you are trying to play an online multiplayer game in xbox live you need to have an xbox gold membership
    I do have a membership with xbox gold live but im still receiving this message.
